Dhaba is “inn” today. Every Desi street now has a restaurant named “dhaba” while they charge arm-and-leg for crappy food in “suit-tie-is-must” type environment.

I miss original dhabas that we used to go in my university days (Karachi University i.e). On a cup of tea, or plate of Qeema, we used to discuss politics from Islamabad to Washington and Finances from Chinese reserves to Sand oils in Canada. All for a cup of tea of Rs2. Priceless!

Sonds good… People in dhaba discuss politics and economics.

Tea houses in Lahore were used by intellectuals.. Now this culture is nowhere…
