Do all prenatals with DHA contain gelatin? I take one a day prenatals + DHA and today i was looking into their site and i found this:

Look at Q#8. Although i knew about gelatin but pork?
i am so sad that i have been taking these and being so ignorant. What should i do? :naak: Can i get a prenatals with DHA that is vegan? What do you girls do?

Is tarah to all prenatals have gelatin? 
What does islam says about it? Should we go for these even if the substitutes are there, though expensive. I am bumped!

Not all prenatals have gelatins in them.. I have Solgar brand prenatals that I bought from local pharmacy and are suitable for vegeterians.. I also have this brand from whole foods (cant remember the name right now) which is also free of gelatin..i was also told that Rite Aid pharmacy brand pre natals don't have gelatin in them so yes there are options available and honestly they are not very expensive.. probably a couple of dollars more, if anything!
I was unable to keep down any prenatals due to severe sickness so I started taking the yummibears multi-vitamins for kids.. they are allergen, gluten, gelatin, and dairy free and have enough folic acid in them! It was just easy to digest gummy bears than those huge pills of pre natals!!
but then I dunno much about the ones with DHA!!!

yeah i dont know about the DHA ones not having gelatin... i'm taking PregVit for my regular prenatals - those are certified halal and kosher- but i never found DHA ones that weren't made of pork gelatin so i never took 'em. maybe up your diet to include eggs, cheese and milk that are DHA enhanced as an alternative?

^yeah may be....i am already taking kind of protein rich diet. Did you check out the link i posted? They say their DHA one is vegan !

The veggie ones I found also had gelatin.
You can find dha supplements that are for kids and stuff that are say beef gelatin.

i use natelle ez prenatals they r kosher n require a prescription n are around $60-70 for a 3 month supply ,really easy on tummy .......n i also refrain from taking anything marked dha or softgel ......there r a lot of good vegetarian friendly prenatals too

I don’t know if it has DHA but I took Rainbow Light Prenatals that you can get at Wholefoods and Walmart. These are vegetarian.

The veggie ones may have fish geletin. Check the company website orv email them.

But my doctor wanted me to take prescription strength prenatals with dha and I was not able to find ones that did not have gelatin listed. But I did not check about where the gelatin was from.

I think Ulta Natal Care (prescription) are gelatin free.

Thankyou guys for the reply. I am thinking of ordering a substitute as reading about pork TOTALLY turned me off and i dint take my prenatals yesterday.
