Dear friends i intend to pursue graduate study in Development Economics at UCB,Harvard or anyother US university .is there anyone in this field to advise me?
Re: Development Economics...anyone here?
I had it as a subject in undergrad. Unless you are passionate about pursuing a career in this field, already have some contacts, or want to go into academia I'd consider it a wot (waste of time).
If your background however is in another field and you already have experience in development (be it volunteering or otherwise), then this might be a strength.
I'm no expert, it's just an opinion.

Re: Development Economics...anyone here?
hi seleucus. i studied exactly that major at UCB. at ucb there are two ways to pursue this. one is through the international area studies department and the second is through the economics department-where you choose macro, micro or institutions<---this being devlpmt concentration. both are highly competitive & among the top in the country.
what exactly are your questions? the scholarship you recieved is a great accomplishment for dev studies, and will certainly open up opportunities for you. write up specific questions and i will be glad to answer them.
:)

Well then you seem all set! I think you’re really lucky, and you should go for it without a doubt.
