How can industry boom with electricity and gas loadshedding?
great question. Did you know nearly every major textile unit have there own electric station or jumbo size generators mainly run on natural gas but also on oil. two years ago we installed two 110 KW Siemens generator at our embroidery unit providing power to 16 Barudan machines.
Government gave permission to setup small electricity generating units running on gas for textile industry.
But that raises the cost of the final product right, when we have countries like china and bangladesh already enjoying low tarrif regimes for their products?

i was expecting the question the add up cost is 15-20%, but then given the culture of no documentation and lack of proper taxes - profit is still healthy.
Well that would be true for big textile groups what about smaller units who cannot afford to put up their own generators, news have been appearing over the past few years that units are closing and shifting to Bangladesh.

i am not saying everything is going perfect without electricity. the industry is looking for ways to survive, i don't see there is much impact on textile in last few years. The numbers of textile exports are there to ponder
