what's your target audience for your business plan?
bankers, investors, board of directors, strategic partners?
once you decide what your target audience is, decide how much they would want to hear... Venture Capitalists normally prefer brevity in a business plan.
A good starting point would be to develop a 10 page summary plan that you can present in a general fashion to everyone, and then work on detailed 30 - 40 pages of a plan for specific target audiences.
I have worked on a plan for the board of directors of a company - can tell you more about that... currently working on one that will be presented to investors in June 2004.
