Detergents for dark clothes

We use Tide liquid for regular white and bright clothes.
I used to use a detergent call Zero for dark clothes. Then there is Purex and Cheers in market for coloured clothes. My question is what you guys use for dark and coloured clothes.

Also what is your preference for fabric softner, I always used Fleecy but I want to try downy or any others that are good.

Re: Detergents for dark clothes

We use the same detergent for colored and white clothes, though the bleach (Clorox) for colored clothes is different than for the white one.

Downy as the fabric softener but I don’t think its anything exceptional.

Re: Detergents for dark clothes

I use regular Tide powder on all my clothes, but I wash the dark ones in cool water, so that there's less fade. Also, if I can line dry them, that's even better.

Re: Detergents for dark clothes

Thanks for sharing. So has anyone used the product called Zero. Its available in liquid only. I prefere liquid detergent over powder form. Cool water is definetely a must for coloured or dark clothes.

How about Purex coloured?

Re: Detergents for dark clothes

Whats this cool water? We have the option of either cold, hot or warm. The place where I live, cold water means freezing cold, so we wash our colored in warm water.

Re: Detergents for dark clothes

Its definetely not freezing cold, I meant cold enough to not to destroy the color of the clothes. You can say colder than warm water or below room temperature.
