Thats disgusting.. that girl should be sent to prison for alteast a couple of YEARS.. whencorporate fraud sends you to jail for years, so should social fraud....

What a horrible horrible girl. Her and her family ought to be named and she should be punished severely, to bear the humiliation of what she did.
Because of her lies and disgusting actions and her parents neglect, one man's life is ruined. She's 17 years old, not 7, that she needs to be "protected."
Unfortunately its because of girls like her that real rape victims are less likely to be taken seriously. If (and when) this happens to some other girl, the authorities involved, the accusers' family members and the general public, will be more skeptical and less likely to believe the victim.

A 17-year old was out drinking? I think there is more than just one law thats been broken here. What happened to the poor cab driver is extremely shameful. May his troubles be eased. Ameen.

I wonder how she ever came to the conclusion that he raped her? I'm assuming that she never went to a hospital to be treated because htey would've found traces of activity (consensual or forced)...
I'd love to hear how some people will defend this grl for what she did.....

its a defamation case n he should sue all the newspaper...also this girls parents n police too....n i agree wid MRS saieen...how come she n ALSO POLICE concluded dat rape happened on a first place and then it is done by Mr aftab?
y the hell her sisz put her ALONE in the car....n didnt mr aftab know about drunkers...he must ask her sis about her address? i can see several glitches in this case.
but remedy is NOTHING.....2 months ONLY :(

Poor girl was disoriented when she got in the Taxi & she took responsibility of her action as soon as she regained full conscious. She is not the one to blame it’s the police’s fault who arrested him just because a drunk teenager accused him. Are they even allowed to do it? Arrest someone just b/c they are accused by someone of rape? Its police’s fault who arrested before doctor’s report or any further investigation. Even if they arrested him his kids did not have to know the reason neither did his name had to be appeared in the newspapers. I wonder how it went this far.
Drinking at age 17 is normal in this society she did not commit a crime. + She took responsibility for her actions she could have continued on with the lie.
She will be paying for what she did. This will always be in her record it’s hard to find a job a get to a good school with these kinds of evictions. I think she should not have been imprisoned at all. Who knows what she had been through before she got in the taxi?

The police can and should be sued in this case... why wasn't a rape-kit administered to the victim? why weren't DNA samples collected from the suspect for corroboration of the story?

Agree, he should sue the Police and the girl, but in such cases police often haress the victim and get some assurances for not being sued in return for dropping the case.

They're like animals, drinking and getting pissed out of their senses is their idea of fun, it's the highlight of their week, their lives revolve around it.
They go out and they're completely out of control and tun, completely out of their senses, either puking their filth at public bus stops or tarnishing a poor old Paki who's just trying to earn an honest living for his kids...

Legal age to drink with food at a pub/resteraunt is 16.. 18 if you're buying from an off-license and 5 if you're drinking at home with your parents.

It sounds like she wasn't trying to "ruin" him at all- she says she was disorientated and really thought that he had done something to her. The police may have not looked into the facts enough before they arrested him, but it seems to me that although the girl must take responsibility for her bad decisions while intoxicated should not be maligned quite as badly for something she truly thought happened and later recanted once she had sobered up. I have been quite intoxicated a few times in my own past and know very well that it can be easy to "wonder what happened" and to get facts mixed up.

Well first thing Police does with the rape victom is medical? Where were the medical reports? Its unbelieveable case, court should punish the Police officials for being careless in conducting their work & not fulfilling guidelines. This prime example of Police negligence must be highlighted.
It doesn't matter what happens but this girl must have a criminal record for good long time on the criminal records register to remind her what she did.
