Hello everyone. I’m finally done with all my functions and although I’m exhausted , it’s going to be fun reflecting on the days that just flew by.
I was initially gonna have my rukhsati and valima reception in LA ,which is like where most of mine and mu husbands family is. Two months prior to the events suddenly the elders decide they want a true desi wedding in pakistan!! Not only did this mean finding venues, makeup artists and what not.. I also needed another outfit for my joint reception in LA afterrrr my pak wedding. Phew.
Anyhow, two months of breakdowns, nervous laughter, sleepless nights later, I finally lived my dream wedding..
Here’s a breakdown of my events
Mehndi cum ubtan night: lots of singing, dancing and later.. Ubtan fighting! My jora was a gift from Nadia Lakdawala gifted to me by MIL. Makeup was light and fresh done by myself.
Shaadiiii: I was lucky enough to get a booking at golf country club karachi, which is really pretty. Jora was by sadia & misba (I’ve raved about them earlier), wore gold heels by dune and makeup was by qadir at sabs. Jewellery by sonica Lahore
The event I was most stressed about, the joint reception: event was at four seasons. Jora by sadia&misba , makeup by my sis in law ( trained from the London school of makeup). Jewellery was my MILs, passed on to me. Had to wear crystal studded flats that I got from pak as I had really bad heel pain
Overall: qadir and shamain are both AMAZING at what they do. I really feel they do desi brides so much better in pak! Sadia&misba are both angels. Not only did they manage to whip up a third outfit for me in just 2 months, they managed to give me 3 absolutely different designs. Nauratan are great for gold and diamond sets and have some lovely bangle designs too. Oh, our events were catered by united catering and the food was divineeee.
Alhamdulilah everything went well and now I shall be MIA in a couple of days as I’m off to Europe. Wohoooooo!
Thankyou! they are based in karachi but I communicated via skype and whatsapp. They also have a fb page but I’m not sure about the link. If you want I can pass on their digits and you can contact them directly.
Hahah i keep posing.in ur threadss its so muchh mre helpful to talk to a recent bride listen my dad is havng a lot.of trouble looking fr good venues…abroad they r all giving him quotes that r too expensive n when we ask our paki relatives, they tellus half of what we r quoted..can u p.m we ur wedding venue details the golf clubs rates and dexoration pleasee..it wld b beyondd helpful..thank youu
Could you also PM me the the info about the designers, venue and caterer? I would immensely appreciate it. We are planning a wedding in October in Pakistan and freaking out because we don’t know a single shop or venue there.
Salam,
i would like to review my sisters wedding that was held in Karachi recently. We are based in the UK. And had done most of our research regarding venues, makeup artists and dresses well in advance. Both the wedding and Valima were held at the Palm in clifton which organized everything fabulously. The venue itself when done up looks gorgeous and is conveniently located for all attending.
Now coming to makeup. My sisters makeup was Natasha for the wedding and Shamain for the Valima. Both were extremely professionally. Makeup for the wedding was glam and traditional and the makeup for the valima was fresh and dewy the shamain trademark. Additionally i had my evening makeup by natasha and loved it.
Last but not the least the Bridal and valima outfits (that were pre-ordered via facebook by azmeh ahmed couture) were beautiful! Both days had distinct looks. Their quality is excellent, all pure fabrics. neat stitching and very intricate handwork. not to forget, their customer service is outstanding. i always got prompt replies over emails and whatsapp.
I am reposting below a review i put in for them earlier---
Salam,
having read numerous reviews, positive and mostly negative about online clothing businesses, i decided to place my sisters Bridal order with Azmeh Ahmed Couture on facebook. I had a couple of friends who had ordered with her before so that surely helped as ordering a bridal online is not always an easy decision.
Anyway long story short, the ordering process was simple , and client friendly. Almost all my queries were replied to within a day. Within 15 days of confirming our order, we were sent detailed samples of colors, fabrics, and hand work of our bridal. Only after we approved the samples, did production begin and we were kept updated throughout.
The bridal arrived at the appointed time and mA its beyond gorgeous!! The fabric/stitching and handwork all reflected
high quality and a lot of hard work put in. I Would give a sure shot Green signal to anyone contemplating to order with them!
I am eagerly awaiting professional photos to share them with you all!! but just so you get an idea, attached is what we ordered
