Destination Weddings

Are you expected to pay for your guests’ accommodation and/or travel expenses for destination weddings?

If you have organised a wedding somewhere abroad, away from home, how did you cater for your guests?

:naraz:

Fine! I was just curious!

Re: Destination Weddings

i was talking to a gori colleague at work the other day about this very topic. she said guests pay for themselves.

Re: Destination Weddings

I see :hmmm:

I was watching a video the other day… the wedding was held in a palace/hotel in Rajasthan and all the guests stayed there so I was thinking the couple must have paid for the booking … may be not.

Re: Destination Weddings

well usually for destination weddings like in the carribean, the guests are close family and friends, who are willing to pay for themselves - its like a vacation for themselves as well. The couple would likely have a bigger reception for everyone else when they get back.

Makes sense. Thank you Afshi

Re: Destination Weddings

Normally the guests pay for themselves. I think it's safe to assume that u r paying for urself UNLESS the host says so... i was invited to a wedding where the father of the bride paid for every1z accomodation but every1 paid for their own airfare... but that too, he paid for the close family (which is still excessive in my opinion... but it was his choice). I didn't go but that was how it was done
