Salam all,
I have a dinner party coming up for about 14 adults and 8 kids… These are all going to be desi… I need help coming up with some dessert ideas… I am planning on one chocolate, one cream based and one fruit dessert but I have no idea what they should be.
Can you guys pls help with desserts that are loved by desis, I don’t wnat to go the traditional route coz my friends are awesome gulab jamun and ras malai makers…

You can try Ume-aali.. I had it at someone's place and it was yummy..seemed easy to make.

gina, how do you make khubani ka meetha... pls share
1/2 kg dried apricots
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
I cook all of the above over a medium flame till the apricots are soft. I puree half of this mixture and keep the rest 'chunky'.
Make custard the way u normally would and keep it slightly runny when u put it in the fridge.
Beat about 1 1/2 cups of heavy cream till stiff and layer everything in a pretty, clear glass bowl.
