Desperate Housewifes

It aired here this evening and I missed it for the first time. Couldn’t record it.

So has anyone from Dutchyland seen it tonight? Could you please sum up the most important stuff that happened?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Desperate Housewifes

wi*v*es

Re: Desperate Housewifes

Hmmm. Is this what I think it is?? Desperate housewives...

Re: Desperate Housewifes

Aussieland is pretty slow eh? I think it'll be starting soon. I haven't watched tv in ages eh? =P

Re: Desperate Housewifes

Which episode are you referring to? From season 2?

you can read the recaps here:

Season 2
Episode 1
Episode 2
Episode 3

Re: Desperate Housewifes

Oh boy, I always mess up with my spelling! Thanks.

They just began the second season here. Last week was a boring recap from everything that happened so far in season 1.

So it's the first episode of season 2. Thanks a lot Sidra 54 :)

Re: Desperate Housewifes

I see we are still in season one, it's episode 120.

This is confusing, I thought we were at the end of season one, since last week all they showed was a whole show of recaps from all the characters storylines.

Re: Desperate Housewifes

^ yeah.. i saw it 2 last night..

here u have the story of episode 1..(pilot)

Re: Desperate Housewifes

Thanks, but I've seen that, from the moment I read an article about it, I was curious and I waited for it to air. And it was exactly what the article mentioned.

I found the missing episode, I was so curious, I read everything about next weeks episode too plus some stuff from season 2... guess there won't be many surprises left for me, heehee

Re: Desperate Housewifes

I saw like half of one episode. I was too disgusted to watch further. Urgh. People cheating on their spouses.

Oh yeah, that’s so cool!

Re: Desperate Housewifes

True, PCG.

But also there are many funny things in it, like the Mom that has a hard time handling her children, and a single Mom that is so clumsy, you wonder how she managed to raise her daughter so far! It's hilarious and over the top.

And you keep wondering who blackmailed the dead woman who killed herself. And what did she do that the blackmailer found out? It grabs your attention and you become curious. Well, obviously me anyway. :)

Re: Desperate Housewifes

I have never watched it, but just the fact that it is about cheating; I never had the desire to watch it.

Re: Desperate Housewifes

It's not only about cheating, there are many things going on. The humor and irony is great and the suspense about the murder.

But you guys are right, if you look at it from that point of view, we actually shouldn't be watching any tv series and movies at all. Western movies and tv series all have haram things in them so you have to close your eyes everytime or forward the dvds.

That's why black and white movies are better, the golden olden movies you can watch without fear with your children and which actually have real and better stories.

This is probably also the reason why all imams we visited here have no television at all in their houses.

I admire that. :)

Re: Desperate Housewifes

I couldn’t even try to watch it. I saw part of the commercial and thought it was lame. It’s not even that it’s sinful, but just typical of American t.v. to go for shock value. But really adultery is so common now that it’s not even shocking. All the botox on the actresses faces, now that is shocking.

Re: Desperate Housewifes

Adultery is also common unfortunately in our own culture, my cousin in England showed me boring Indian and Pakistani movies, very very shocking!

Indian and our own Pakistani movies trying to be equally shocking as the western people in having adultery type themes and more and more halfdressed people in them (as if they are competing with the americans - and with each other - in being more naked on the screen!!!) and shocking 'love scenes' which were going too far for even a Pakistani movie. And this was about 10 years ago, I bet it's probably worse now, 10 years later...

Like I said, perhaps it is better not to watch tv at all or just to watch the news. Imams don't avoid television for nothing.

Nevertheless I enjoy Desperate Housewifes wether others like it or not. :)

I like the comedy, and the murder and suicide suspenses, the clumsiness, the over the top and ridiculous story lines, theft, fire in houses, another murder of a neighbour, dead body in a box (whose it it?), there is so much more than the topic of adultery. I find it hilarious and who on earth would take it serious?

And yes, I know it's better not to watch American/Dutch/British/any other goray/and Pakistani and Indian too for that matter/movies and tv shows.

Re: Desperate Housewifes

Haha!!

Imams avoiding TV so they’re not influenced into committing adultery. :rotfl:

Re: Desperate Housewifes

hmmmm.... that's not exactly what I said....

By the way, your remark on not wanting to watch a show like Desperate Housewifes is weird when you have posted in another thread you actually watched Sex in the City and even like it!

I'm sure the topics in a show like Sex in the City are more to your taste then? :)

Ah well, sister, to each his own. :)

Re: Desperate Housewifes

By the way, they are airing Lost here tonight. I watch that one too.

Shocking, isn't it? ooooo, they have such bad themes too.... :D

Re: Desperate Housewifes

^ love lost 2..:D
