Desktop Support Interview

I am a recent gratuate in Computer Engineering (bachelors). Don’t have any IT certifications yet. I have an interview next week in a big financial company. The position available is of Desktop specialist win 2K and XP primarily. The role would be as jr./mid level desktop support. There would also be an opportunity to learn server work and build a career in network infrastructure.

I need your suggestions and advice as to what kind of technical questions the interviewer might ask and what areas I should concentrate on to prepare for this kind of interview. This would be my second interview at this company. The first interview was just with the recruiter who, I guess, just recommends individuals for second interview. As anyone I need a job, so please help. Thanks.

Piece of advice. Do not try to fluff up your expierence. Remember, what ever you put in your resume is fair game. As far as what kind of questions to expect

  1. General Networking Issues. IP addressing etc.
  2. General OS issues related to XP.
  3. Printing issues in conjunction with network printers

Other people who are currently employed in this capacity can tell you more. I started in 95 at the same poistion, needles to say my expierence is dated.

Thanks for your advice and suggestions. Anyone else wanna help/guide me here. Thanks :)

BTW, the job would be in New York.
