In my parents’ generation, I know of at least five desi men married to white women. They are all still married, but one couple was separated for a while. In one of the couples the kids are very cut off from desi culture, and it seems like their father has let that happen out of his own insecurities.
I also know of one desi woman in my parents’ generation married to a white guy. She was cut off from her family for a long time.

In my generation, I know of two marriage between a desi guy and a white girl, but one marriage already ended in divorce. Just thinking for a few seconds, off the top of my head, I can think of 6 desi girls I know married to white guys. ** I also know two desi girls married to black men.**

I live in the US.

Oh! I forgot that one of my friends is half white – she grew up in Karachi, where her (white/British) mother and Pakistani father lived after marriage. Recently they moved to the UK.

okay im pretty stumped at what ever is boleded :O, so we’ve figured that stuff like this happens, but what happens after? what are the consequences?

italics: well i guess this is more common since its been happening in older generations as well, im sure concequences back then for those men would have been pretty savage, would they still be the same for men in this generation?

Underline: okay now in ireland theres a VERY small desi community, most desis here are doctors (about 60% of all irish doctors are actually DESI), so we do it big here in the healthcare business. (hospital where my dad is a doc his department is 100% desi, 3 pakis, 1 indian), having said that i dont plan to have a family in ireland (i’ll probably move to america after medschool), and over there, if, and this is a big big IF, i marry lets say an american or even an irish chick, i plan to keep my kids well away from the desi culture. i dont really have any desi friends who are my “true friends” sure i know alotta desis in college, and do socialise with them but im not really close with them, im closer with the goras.

but if i marry a desi, im probably gonna be in with the desi community, i dont know if you get the logic. meh.
