I was at the JFK airport earlier today since my mom and sis left for Pakistan. Since, I live in a suburban area and away from the city where you get to see desis like it is desiland. Since, I am not exposed to all that on a daily basis, it was such a nice experience to see so many desis of all kinds:) I could just stand there inside terminal 4 and just watch people come and go. I guess maybe I felt homesick (missing Pakistan) or it is good exercise for your senses (eyes and ears) to see so many women dresses in so many different colors of Shalwar kameez, all imaginable fashion out there. Hear people everywhere talk in urdu and sadly mostly were complaining of either their mum in laws or their bhabis…
which is actually sad because this old and bad habit of our desi women of complaining of these rishtas seems like it is never going to end. Any thoughts…??? Over all it was a mesmerizing experience for me:D

Re: Desi's at JFK
hmm, but are'nt you a desi??? Did'nt your parents originate from the same land that these desis are from??? Come on we need to show some respect for our culture and our background. I was also raised in the US but feel very proud to be a Pakistani!
