I’m not talking about people who have newly arrived and have a paki accent to their english. I want to discuss those Pakistanis who have been born and bred in England, America, Canada and so forth.
I don’t know it is for the rest of the world but 9 times out of 10 - even if i’m on the phone talking to a desi, and they don’t tell me their name - i can tell they’re desi. I don’t know what it is. But i guess the English have a distinct manner and accent. Some pakis get away with it but i’d say a loooooooot don’t.

I myself talk like people on corrie, I'm a proper northern lad but most Desi BBCD's have that distinct accent, it's not "butt butt ding" but nor is it British, I guess it's a combination of the two and their vocabulory always has to have "innit", "respect" and "whagwan" in it (so annoying and chavy). The people from Bradford and Birmigham are worse for it but even closer to home in areas like Oldham it's pretty bad, I myself hate it when people talk like that.
I think it's a British paki thing, when I worked for BT I could always tell when it was an asian guy speaking, I cannit tell much with the lasses though, I think its the yardy, rude boy lingo which makes it easier to tell. However, I have a very posh phone voice, I sound like a bloody cockney! It's awful, but I cannit help it.

actually here is the deal, not sure if it can still work. if you absolutely must be on a flight, the airline can usually only oversell it to a certain amount.
Now, the flight can have 150 ppl, and airline would usually sell 20+ more seats, which creates a problem because the flight is oversold and if you are late or something u are pretty SOL.
So, if you call as Tony Valvano and you need to take your family on the same flight, and you are a family of 6 and you make a reservation, and then Jim Roberts calls and makes a reservation for his family, you got 12 of those spots sorted. as ppl call and find how booked the flight is, they will not go for that flight. Thus less number of seats will be oversold and u would be okay.
Used to work wonders if you flew on standby on a friends/family pass from an airline employee dont think it works in post 9-11 world though.
P.S. This is just a fictitious situation, any resemblance to real people is just a coincidence
