FB and Gupshup boasts a number designers whose work product is very good in terms of embroidery, kaam, and finishing.
However, I am often drawn to an outfit because of the style and cut of the suit more than the kaam, whether it be a large flare; a gathered waist; a tiered dress; or a pleated look.
I find that while the FB designers are good at replicating the kaam and embroidery very few have tailors that can replicate the same style and cut of the suit.
Can anyone recommend some designers who can provide designer tailoring.
I know a talor in Norbury (london) he is very good at replicating, he has made me an anarkali dress, a panelled dress and a very very big flaired dress from pictures (the last one he actually put the kaliya in below the belly button so the dress was very fitted then flaired) it has such a lovely fall...
My khala in Karachi knows this guy who brings fabrics to her home as she can't get out much.Anyways,when I was there a few years ago he made some HSY copies,and they were perfect!!.So there are good tailors out there.
This Eid,my friend's mum got me a suit from Pakland.It is the most ugliest colour/design ever seen,but the stitching and fitting is so exquisite that I actually wore it,and got many compliments too.
But I have seen so many nice suits with lovely designs,and think to myself,did the tailor did it off his own bat,or was he told detail by detail.
It's difficult....but not impossible....after all,someone must've stitched the original suits that we lust after..:)
Prices range on the suit, a simple one starts from £12 the dresses I have had made he charged £25...
If you add me on facebook you can see a few of the suits I wore recently all been stiched by him.
Im sure he would ship overseas but you would have to pay shipment charges... if you have access to paypal I would be happy for you to pay me via paypal and I can pass the money on (as this is more secure). He usually makes 5-6 suits for me in 10 days
Actually it is very difficult to get both in one package........If you live abroad people will cheat you........I have ordered from FB and from Gupshup designers and I have seen that you will be cheated on material or on the finishing.....I don't know why designers will do that do you especially if you have to pay so much money for shipping......sometimes I think it is better to just to go the stores here and you might actually get a better deal.......you know what u will get. I have seen designers use the cheapest chiffon that is sold and very very cheap pattiyan /pipings.......gee tell me how much the pattiyan cost that the designer feels compelled to cheat the customer on that.....I understand that any designers should be compensated for their services.....and am willing to pay a fair and equaitable amount for that but Please don't cheat the ppl abroad....money doesn't grow on trees for us...DESIGNERS TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS IF YOU WANT REPEAT BUSINESS......If you cheat me I will take my business somewhere else.....
@handbagsand... which fb and gupshups designers have you ordered from? could you pm with pics......I am trying to find one that that does intricate/delicate kaam with excellent tailoring........have not been successful yet......

Customer complaint me my fabric was not nice or not good quality and cheap patties and she was not happy. If she said she do not like my stitching ok may be she dont like it but i use pure chiffon fabric in it why she complaint for it.

I would like to say I had clothes made from Proto (here on GS kapray shapray on FB), the quality of her material was excellent and the work etc, I did find though that the stitching although of a very high standard wasnt quite right.. I dont blame her at all I think her tailor got trigger happy as I had quite a big order and he mixed things up... I had to get them adjusted but it was not a big deal as when your not there in person its hard to get the sizing right, I would defo recomend her. My friend had a suit made and the colour was all wrong proto went out of her way to ensure it was redyed and even offered her any other suit on an urgent basis if it couldnt be dyed to the right colour.. she loved the end result!
One thing I have noticed is that with the dress styles which are currently in fashion, the pakistani tailors just dont understand when you tell them to fit it to the hips then flare out.. I had a couple made and all are huge!! My sister who recently came from PK had the same porblem, my tailor here makes it so its fitted until the belly button then flairs it just is much more flattering this way!
my mom recently had our clothes done by a designer tailor in lahore and sheee didddddddd an amazing job... all the fabrics my mom gave her, she turned them into designer outfits... the most she charged was 3000 rps.. but it was worth it.. atleast now tht we found her we dont have to wory abt tailors messing up the beautifull fabrics my mom buys
