Re: Desi wedding planning

more than four? yours asking talalloo is the fifth. B O R I N G !

Re: Desi wedding planning

funguy just tell him to change the menu and have vegetables and fish for the complainers. unless they then wat to see if the fish and the damn baingan were zibah-fied too.

miss mohabbat, good one about irun bru and whiskey. I got in trouble for drinking ginger ale at a desi wedding because some morons thought it was champagne, after makign them feel like real asses for accusing me of drinking champagne while it was only ginger ale, I was able to enjoy champagne the rest of the evening without any problems ;)

Re: Desi wedding planning

So what's wrong with relatives/guests asking for halal food? I'll eat chicken non zabiha or not but if/when I have a wedding, I'd make sure it was all halal. I don't wnat my guests to starve and it's pretty inconsiderate to tell them to eat veggies. However, if the restaurant is promising halal food, then the relatives should stop complaining and let the poor guy rest. I hate when people say "well it's really not halal" if something is advertised as being halal. Its skepticism and faithless and just rude.

Another thing, did the relatives JUSt start complaining only days before the shaadi? Didn't they know about the venue, etc beforehand? Coz if they already knew and just started on the poor guy then they're just being assholes and he shudn't try to give in...

Re: Desi wedding planning

well thats the point, if the place is saying its halal, then its their choice to accept it and eat it, or munch on vegetables..who says they have to eat everything on the menu. desis can use more veggies in their diets anyways.

Reminds me of this dinner outing we had and one gentleman wanted to change the entire group’s plans because he wanted all to go to a diff restaurant and not the one that was decided, because he was nto sure they served halal while we had confirmed it already. I had to tell him point blank..enough people are coming to this place, we cant change the plans now, if you have an issue, order seafood. he ended up coming to this retaurant and then talkignt o the manager and then announcing that he has done his due diligence and teh food indeed is halal,..something that was done weeks ago when the plan was made anyways. People like this want attention I think.

Re: Desi wedding planning

I dont c why someone shud be skeptical if something is halal or not. Its like saying ur fellow Muslim is trying to make you sin or something like that. It's paranoia tho I can't be sure if there's anything Islamically wrong with that.

Re: Desi wedding planning

In all honesty funguy, your friend deserves this hassle after not bothering to sort such a simple matter out sooner rather than days before the wedding.

OTOH, if the relatives kicked up this storm just recently they should accept his word that it is halal, assuming he is confident it is. If he isn't, then its his damn fault, he could have chosen a well known restaurant.

In some cases (actually, many) relatives are just a pain in arse. They'll do anything to put a damp squib on someones wedding day. They should be served a bacon sandwich.

Re: Desi wedding planning

heck, I don't think I will get married at some faabee desi restaurant. Most likely it will be an american wedding hall. needless to say, food won't be halal. If some of my ******* relative doesn't like it, they can sit on their fat ass at home. If these assholes are soooo caught up in what is islamically right, they should just move to the cave of afghanistan and leave this kaafiristan.

Re: Desi wedding planning

btw, when did "asshole" be okay to write and not get censored?

Re: Desi wedding planning

why dont you halal (proper zabiha) the chicken yourselves, its not that difficult...

and mmmmm chooharay... - really give your jaws a workout.
