What is a wedding menu supposed to consist of?
How many appetizers dishes do people generally serve, and what appetizers do people generally serve? What about entree? Isn’t it usually one vegtable dish, one meat dish, one kabob dish, one rice dish, naan, chutney, and salad?
Can someone please give me an ENTIRE breakdown of a wedding menu? I know the more people you have, the more food you get, I just need a general idea. I am trying to figure out what dishes I should choose, how many appeitizers, how many entrees, etc.
Mahi, I skimmed through, I see the dishes, but I dont know how many appetizers do desi people generally had. I called bukhara grill and he was like 10. If I get that much food as an appetizer, than everyone will leave after eating that lol. I thought it was more like 2-3 appetizers?

Hmm... I really don't vote for any appetizers esp. for desi weddings. The main entries are filling enough but if you really want to have some then 2-3 are fine.

That's exactly what I was thinking!!!! But my fiancee said that there have always been a lot of appetizers at the weddings he has gone to....
so you think 2-3 is ok?

Where is your wedding taking place? Im getting married in Toronto next year, and this is our menu:
4 Appetizers - 2 veg, 2 non-veg (your hall will give you a list of what they have)
Dinner:
3 non-veg dishes
2 veg dishes
2 rice dishes (one veg, one non-veg)
naan/roti
2 salads (your choice from a list offered by the hall)
Raita/chutney

are you planning a sit-down or a buffet? that will also influence what dishes, and how many, you serve to your guests.
at my wedding, we did a sit down, plated started salad, and the rest was a bbq/buffet. at my brother's wedding iA, we're going to do a buffet entirely with passed appetizers. we're doing two appies, 4 main courses, 3 salads plus 2 raitas, naan and biryani. we're offering two desserts desi style- kheer and khoya kulfi (which, btw, is out of this world yummy!), and we're also doing a dessert table with 3 flavours of cupcakes.

i went to wedding reception recently where everyone loved the food.
Waiters were going around the hall offering nibbles and entres which were spring rolls/samosas veg and non veg, pakoras and pani puri.
The dinner was buffet style.
A massive salad bar

I'm gonna have a buffet dinner. I was thinking of having 2-3 appetizers and 6-7 entree dishes. What's the average pet head charge in NY? For a minimum of 150 people.
