Desi v/s Non Desi

Which food is most common in your home, desi or non desi..

And the Question , how many times a week do you cook non desi food?

I cook mostly desi....but I do like to make Chinese food, Italian food and Mexican food. These are usually treats for the family. I find these are not healthy and often laden with fat .

Re: Desi v/s Non Desi

Mostly desi with twists every now and then.

Re: Desi v/s Non Desi

We cook something non-desi maybe around 3-4X a week

Mostly desi cause mom and dad cannot live without it.

Re: Desi v/s Non Desi

Only desi..

Re: Desi v/s Non Desi

desi in dinner , sandwiches for lunch during weekdays .

Re: Desi v/s Non Desi

Re: Desi v/s Non Desi

*Pakistani *only

Re: Desi v/s Non Desi

Mostly desi, but I throw in about 2 nights of non-desi just to break it up.

Re: Desi v/s Non Desi

half and half....desi probably 3 nights a week...non desi 2-3 nights a week...usually eat out or do take-a-away/pizza delivery on weekends

Re: Desi v/s Non Desi

It used to be a pretty even mix of desi, American, and Italian cuisines, with the occasional Asian thrown into the mix. But ever since Bunny was born, it's mostly desi, because she CLEARLY prefers that cuisine. It's bizarre!

Re: Desi v/s Non Desi

Desi, almost always.I find it boring at times but my husband and daughter prefer it that way and I just go along...!

Re: Desi v/s Non Desi

desi always :)

Re: Desi v/s Non Desi

yup desi all the way for me too .. non desi occasionally ..

Re: Desi v/s Non Desi

I will eat desi or badesi as long as it smells and tastes good.

Re: Desi v/s Non Desi

This English dost of mine seems very intrigued with the desi culture .. she loves eating indian food .. She tried to desify her own english cooking by adding a few spices but it didnt help so eventually she asked me what she was missing out on and I told her to bhoon the food well coz until it stays raw you cant really get that desi feel to the food …

So now she does that and told me the other day she cant stand the food that gets served in her social circle coz now she is so used to eating cooked food rather then the raw stuff

she thinks English really dont know how to each spinach or vegies , i think she has a desi soul in her :cb:

Re: Desi v/s Non Desi

All the sophisticated people in this thread who eat those non-desi upscale cuisines, what do you eat? Cook at home or eat out? Or are you referring to the frozen, processed crap you find in store freezers?

Re: Desi v/s Non Desi

desi.
