I don't think I would ever date a non-Muslim. I would prefer a Pakistani Muslim lady who was born or raised in North America and who is also in touch with their culture and religion. It's important to me because I'd want to continue our culture for our kids. Also, being of the same culture, it would be easier for us to get along with each other and our inlaws.

as far as the question goes. i wouldn’t DATE desi girls because i respect them. i can fall in love ONLY with pakistani girls and i WILL marry a PAKISTANI ONLY.

I have to say my first love was a white guy. And i do find white guys attractive. And i wouldn't cut out all possiblities based on color/race-if it happened. But i prefer exactly what he said. Just makes life easier. (make my parents happier too :D)
pk taz: you have to be a little more specific on the "partner" issue......since you didnt clarify if your are talking about a life partner or a sex partner....since they are 2 different arenas.
In case of life partner..........i would prefer someone with a similar cultural and moral background as mine, since it greatly decreases the chance of misunderstandings and conflicts which are plentiful enough despite these issues in any marriage.....which in result can greatly reduce the decay time of a marriage......and just keeps the fire burning a little longer.
a sex partner on the other hand doesnt have to meet such criteria, since they are only filling the physical void.....not the emotional one.
I would definitely marry a Pakistani Muslim gentleman in order to perpetuate our culture and religion through my progeny. Plus the similarity in culture and religion would be a mutual comfort zone of sorts for myself and my prospective spouse and our families. I get attracted to men of other ethnicities too but as far as the serious business of marriage goes, handsdown, I’d marry a Pakistani Muslim!
Sure, I have been attracted to non-desi women.
For a partner I would definately marry Pakistani. Attraction is only part of the formula, your compatibility and personality are also major factors. To me, a Pakistani-American Muslim girl is perfect because she comes from a heritage that I value greatly and practices a religion that is the same as mine.
I think that if you find yourself in a relationship with a non desi, you will have to work harder with them on the cultural issues because they may not be aware of where your coming from.

i don’t get your question sabah. i said i would NOT date desi girls because i DO respect them. when people date here, they kiss and have sex (there ARE some exceptions) and that’s the reason i would not date desi girls because i don’t want to kiss them or have sex with them. this DOES NOT mean that i hate desi girls, NO, not at all. The reason why i wouldn’t date them is that i personally feel that they are pure and they should stay pure until they marry. i can have friendship with desi girls and i do have a lot of desi friends, and they reason they tell me for being friends with me is “you are not like other typical guys who go and tell lies to their friends that i kissed her and had sex with her and bla bla bla” i know i am getting off topic and i’ll get back to the topic.
now, i do NOT date ANY girls, desi or no desi, but if i were to date, i would date american girls, why? because most of them have no idea what love is and they have sex before they get married (again, there ARE a few exceptions). if they don’t respect love, why would i when i am with them?

well, i have said that i DO NOT date ANY girls, desi or non desi. and if i were to date, i would date non desi. now your question is why would i date them if i don't respect them, right? the answer is: for fun and to kill time:) i am not too worried about what you think of me after reading my response because we are talking about personal opinions, and this is my opinion :) other do have the righ to disagree.

there is something called dating and relationship where you go out to eat, movies, talk, romance, and what have you.......and then there's something called just sex where you don't LOVE the person but you just do some stuff to learn :)

saba, i am not an ABCD......i don't know about you. I am from pakistan and i moved here to USA about 5 years ago. I know my culture very well.....it's a different story if i don't follow it :)
