good idea, I usually give my unwanted gifts to charity. No use circulating some piece of crap crystal clock or yet another coffee maker.

my relatives usually give gold sets etc etc to friends and relatives
but once someone gave me this really crappy lamp :o we threw it out

i have no complaints with gifts i have received from close family and friends. Its those distant relatives etc who just pass on junk. I mean one actually gave me a neck 14 1/2/ and sleeve 33-34 shirt once..and i am like 6'3" as if that will ever fit me.
why even bother, just dont give anything at all, or just give me a tin of chocolate or just dont give me anything..really.
cuz then i am expected to give them something when i visit them or go to their kids weddings..:)

Hey now, if it was a good coffee maker and i needed it i would be grateful, but not when its the 11th coffee maker. same goes for crystal vases and crystal clocks. They dont even go with my decor.
I kid you not, I have received almost a dozen coffee makers from ppl. and like i dont even drink mch coffee. It woulf be different had they bough tme a espresso of capuccino machine by gaggia, but no cheap azz Mr Coffee crap.

Some others think ke agar gift card day diya, that means ke you didn't spend enough time thinking about a gift, aur sirf kaam chalaya hai.

with the type of gifts that are circulating, I am glad I dont receive em. I have a strict no gifts policy implemented for my home. perishables are fine, bring some flowers, bring some pastries (valaiti mithai...akhir vailaiti mullah thera)
