Desi ghee

Have any of you tried this totka to work having desi ghee in warm milk in th last weeks of preg? I had a c sec last time n this time i really want to have a normal birth so someone suggested i have desi ghee in milk and dates … Pls tell me if that helps and also any other tricks that worked for you guys

Re: Desi ghee

nope. The stomach isn't connected to the birth canal. And the extra calories won't help you avoid a c-section. Walk a lot, if you are able!

Re: Desi ghee

I would also advise to walk a lot. Plus eat a few dates every day!

Re: Desi ghee

Eat healthy so baby doesn't get very fat and unable to be delivered vaginally.
I would highly recommend dates. I read a research study where they tested if eating dates leads to an easy delivery. They found that women who eat 5-6 dates everyday when they are in their third trimester, they dilated faster and they were more likely to avoid c-sections compared to women who didn't eat dates in the study. Dates increase the oxytocin levels.

I actually ate salad and fruit for lunch during pregnancy. Had a nice breakfast and small and healthy dinner. Really monitored my weight and ate very healthy. I had no cravings for ice cream or junk. I still somehow ended up with a 9 lb baby. It was my first baby and i didn't have a c section. I pushed for 2 hours though and tore really bad, but I healed quickly. Doctor was shocked that the baby was so big. No one expected it or else I'm sure they would've recommended a c section. I did eat 5 dates every single day during my 8th and 9th months though, and I'm sure it helped me dilate faster and allowed me to have energy to push for 2 hours on an empty stomach.

Re: Desi ghee

I actually agree with the eating dates part. I gave birth to my second a few months back and I was eating 4-5 dates everyday for the last 2 weeks of my pregnancy. My labour lasted about 40 mins. The contractions before those 40 mins didnt even hurt. I dialated from 4 cm to 9cm in the time I walked from triage to the delivery ward. Baby was out in literally a few pushes. Didn't even have time to get an IV inserted. I think the dates really made a difference. It didn't even hurt as much as I thought it would. Apart from the dates, I was very active. Worked till a few weeks before delivering. Used stairs. I have a toddler so I was constantly running after him. Inshallah you will have an easy delivery as well.

Re: Desi ghee

I have heard about dates as well, during the third trimester. Someone told me dates can cause preterm labour in the early part of pregnancy.

Just eat healthy and ask your doctor about these random desi totkas. I was told to not eat any seafood. I asked my doctor and she said it is safe and recommended to eat 2 portions of seafood every week. So yea, eat everything in moderation.
