It depends on the size of your cup but atleast 8 cups of rice.
And chicken qorma, i had say 2.5 or 3 kg should suffice.
Granted i always have left over but its better than running out of food at the time.
Kids, i'd say stick to spaghettis or pizza.
For a desi party, Iād probably have pizza or something āfunā for the kids to haveā¦but not for a regular basisā¦Iād like it that way, now if only I can get out of the takeaway lifestyle
pizza or speghetty willbe good for kids and if u are making something seperate for kids in meal then 6 big cups of rice will be enough and 1 1/2 kg chicken.hmm but one question what r u making with rice ,do u serve chicken qorma with rice or have roti too. the dish u are making with rice make differance too.and if u are not making speperate meal for kids then u have to increase the quantity up to one cup as i think so in this age kids dont eat well.
^ exactly, usually i care less for kids "edible" stuff at my parties... you are desi so eat desi OR go munch on junk!:)
I would say take 7-8 standard cups of rice and cut down on karahi and Quorma gosht, since ppl usually stuff themselves up with chicken biryani.... 2.5-3.5 lbs meat for each dish would be sufficient enough.
Once we went to this desi eid millan party where they had cheese lasagna for kids and all other desi food for adults. At the lunch time they refused lasagna to adults saying it is for kids. Half way the lunch they bought all the lasagna dishes from the kids table to the adults table as all the kids were high on biryani/palo...lol
Actually I never saw anything BUT desi food at all the davats I went to as a kidā¦the first/only davat I went to as an adult (well married oen ) did have pizza for the kids and adults (as well as biryani etc etc)..so maybe its the new generation thing to serve non-desi food to kidsā¦
Thank you everyone for your response. Pure desi it is going to be!!!
Kids have to eat it. Mine do eat the same stuff when they go out to such parties.
Will let you know how it went :)
