Desi Desserts making spree

Begum is on desi desserts spree. She has made rabri, qalaqand, creme brulee and zarda during lasts 8/10 days and all that is converting into lbs on my body :frowning:

Good thing is that she is making enough only to finish in one time (mostly dinner) and she is keeping it less sweet. As per her, she is craving sweets these days, desi sweets to be exact.

Do guy guys go through such state? when you crave some specific type of food and you go on spree of eating it for week of two?

Re: Desi Desserts making spree

Wow, how does she make rabri at home? Could you share the recipe/method please?

I have been wanting to experiment with besan ki barfi but have not attempted it yet... also want to try gulab jamans, but who will eat them all? :)

Re: Desi Desserts making spree

There was a period of 2 weeks where I did nothing but make and eat desi desserts

I made gajar ka halwa, gulab jamun, kheer (I did not make this) and zarda.

Phir jab dil bhar gaya to I didn't touch them for months.

Re: Desi Desserts making spree

Its easy 20 min recipe

  • ¼ can of sweetened & condensed milk
  • 1 cup milk
  • 100 grams of paneer (crumble the paneer coarsely in a bowl with hands)
  • 1 tbsp of all purpose flour (maida). make paste of all purpose flour in 3-4 tbsp of milk
  • some chopped nuts like almond, pistachio (we took around 2-3 tablespoon)
  1. in a pan heat milk with S&C milk (we used non stick). Keep stirring and bring to boil
  2. add the all purpose flour’s paste
  3. reduce heat and stir & cook for 5 more min
  4. add the paneer
  5. add chopped nuts and little bit of cardamom powder (couple of pinches)
  6. stir and cook for couple of more min

take out in a bowl and chil for couple of hours. enjoy
