wow thanks for answering
Re: Desi Calorie Counter
nice thread but you keep posting the food as portions. which is not bad but wont the ingredients and oil and other stuff will make the difference. eg in daal not everyone is going to cook the same way, for some they gonna use little oil for some they gonna use more.
What if you post calories it for raw food and it will be like.
Daal Mash raw... 50gm xxx calories
Skinless Chicken thigh 6oz xxx calories..
2 Tsp olive oil. xxx calories.
a pinch of salt.
etc
etc..
anyway its just a suggestion. doesnt matter if you eat 1 time a day but most people who eat 3/4 times a day a little calories here a little there can make alot of difference.
btw... can you tell me, is there a difference in raw egg whites and boiled egg whites, do some calories lost when we boil/steam eggs. thanks.
Re: Desi Calorie Counter

Whatever you add in with the ingredient will make a difference hence you should calculate the individual calories of every ingredient to come up with the actual calorie intake. Say for example a 100gram boiled potato has roughly 78 calories, however the same 100gram potato once fried with vegetable oil will have approximately 134 calories.
There is no difference if the egg white is boiled or consumed raw. Proteins do denature with heat. However, The amino acids are not substantially altered by cooking therefore the Protein quantity or quality will not be affected in any way.
Must also add that certain studies have shown that the digestion rate of raw egg whites are poor compared to the digestion rate of boiled eggs. So keeping that in mind it is highly recommended to have the egg whites boiled than raw.
Considering the fact that you are In Pakistan and the fact that Egg whites alone are quiet hard to find here in stores, there is a risk of contracting a disease called Salmonella if you choose to go for raw egg whites.
