^ yep, even in black americans there is this rewaaj of shaping the head, i saw it on tv once...
Re: desi aunties philosaphiessss!!!
i am told that flat head shapes your face and forehead as well. i didnt believed in it, but after the birth of my niece as she was sick she had to sleep on her sides and and her head did turn out to be long and it does look ugly and her foreheard is bit higher as well, not flat.
i have flat head and my forehead is flat as well. i have seen couply of other kids who dont have flat forehead and it does look ugly.
i do believe in having flat head, but going so extreme and torturing kids.
OK, I have a story to share with you all. My mom says that, when I was born, I had a very long head or as she puts it, “batte ki tarah sar tha” and she let out a shriek when she saw me asking my nani what are they going to do with a head like a batta. Nani said to mom not to worry and it will be OK and she practised all kinds of things which are stated above. Did those practices actually work or not, I wouldn’t know. All I know is my head is really and I do mean “really” round now.
:halo:
^^ I’d say these philosophies don’t work. Because if there was some truth to these philosophies, I’d not need help with my nose today ![]()
Re: desi aunties philosaphiessss!!!
sometimes, we need to see what the older people are saying. maybe there way of saying something seems illiterate, but we can learn from that, if there is something good to learn.
getting hung up on the accent or choice of words, can be an impediment is realizing the true intent of the speakers who may feel to be old fashioned and conventional.
also, good humor can always enable sharing of perspectives which may be totally apart.
