Desert Island Resort - Abu Dhabi

So this weekend we stayed at Desert Island Resort , which is on Sir Bani Yas Island, about 2 and half hrs drive away from Abu Dhabi.

It was a complete fun, an adventurous trip and a very relaxing stay. We had lots of fun, enjoyed the fabulous 5 star hotel services and food, adventurous activities they offer you at the resort/island. We stayed there for two nites and 3 days. Going to post some pics which will give you an idea of the place and the fun we had there

To reach the Sir Bani Yas Island, you need to obviously take a boat or fairy which can take you the island. So after driving for about 2 and half hrs from abu dhabi we reached the coastal area of Sir Bani Yas. Here we parked our car

and entered this small reception lounge. Here the lady at reception checked our booking/reservation in her system and once confirmed , she gave us the map and a small booklet about the island. We were served with fresh juice and tea

We waited there for about 15 mins hardly , our luggage was boarded on the fairy and at the end we were escorted to the fairy. Our journey started:

It took us some 20 mins to reach the island. The fairy was docked and we found a bus waiting for us to take us to the Desert Island Resort:

To be continued …

Re: Desert Island Resort - Abu Dhabi

I worked there for 1 year! lots of fun :)

Our First activity was Wildlife Drive:

In a Jeep and with a guide, we were taken on Wildlife drive. The pics will tell you what was it like :

oh wow you have worked in this resort? its a beautiful place… so very romantic too sachi

and the tiger

some other animals:

2nd Activity was Mountain Biking:

I do not have pics of that activity as we completely forgot about clicking pics. we were exhausted like hell. None of us had done cycling in long long time so taangain humari 2 pedal maar kar hi toot gaiee theen lol. but it was GREAT exp moving around the island on bicycle. The time we selected for this activity was morning 9am. It was peaceful and beautiful.

3rd Activity: Kayaking

Again an adventurous activity. I do not know how to swim but still I went for this activity. Sea was blue and green, the water was very cold and it was simple a lovely unforgetable exp for me.

Fourth and last activity was Nature Walk:

In this walk you get chance to get close to the animals, take pics etc. A guide is always with you, he takes you around the wild life park, on foot, and show you different animals, their food, how they live and some other info regarding these animals.

Re: Desert Island Resort - Abu Dhabi

Yeah…it is very romantic  there have been quite a few proposals over there…hehehe:cb:

And that is actually a cheetah…not a tiger :@:

The ghazals are a pain coz they are always running all over the place…and there are these birds which NEVER want to fly…they always want to walk…and when they see a vehicle coming towards them…they walk faster …it is quite comical :omg: we call them the “Suicidal Birds”…coz until the tyre is on their tail…they will not fly

Re: Desert Island Resort - Abu Dhabi

^oh you are right. I noticed the guide would always slow down or stop the jeep whenever see any bird. They would really not fly away :bummer:

why did you leave that place? and when did you exactly? I see you are in Canada. Got married?

Re: Desert Island Resort - Abu Dhabi

Nope…i left in october last year…so was technically there for 10 months…but had a lot of fun…every one is like one big happy (sometimes nutty) family!!! :cb:

I left coz I was fed-up of UAE - srry…i know u live there…but i was working for 5 yrs there and wanted make my life better!! I am not yet married :cb:

Re: Desert Island Resort - Abu Dhabi

oh acha nice. not bad. Its okay if you got fed up of UAE. Right now I am sailing in same boat as you. But my reasons may be a bit different. I mean its not mainly the place but .... something else. I have been here from almost 10 yrs now lol.
