The controversial Florida pastor who halted plans to burn a Quran on the 9/11 anniversary last year oversaw the burning of the Islamic holy book on Sunday after it was found “guilty” during a “trial” at his church.
You really cant be sure these days... sadly I hate to sound like a paranoid schizzo but every dark corner hides menace these days, it's what the whole damn world has come to.

Jones said about 30 people attended the mock trial at his Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville.

I think the guy was missing the last year's publicity so tried to pull the stunt again. 30 people showed up. The numbers speak for itself. He is an idiot.
The guy is a complete nutjob. He held a “trial” for the Quran with himself as the “judge” and some other church members as “jury” with an ex-Muslim “prosecutor” and Muslim “defense attorney”. I wonder what body of law and precedent the proceedings followed. Certainly not common law, in which inanimate objects can not be tried, or the US Constitution, which protects the Quran from censure.
This was just a stunt to try and legitimize a provocative, insulting gesture. I can’t imagine other Christians tolerating this kind of behavior.
^ What she said. A comment in the link states a preacher was given 30 days of psychiatric evaluation 37 years ago in Tampa FL when he threw the Bible into the swimming pool.
Oh well, these psychos can finally have a normal bowel movement now.
good way to draw attention to himself, soon authorities would be all over his embezzling and scamming ways and he will be sharing the jail cell with bubba.
Oh yeah, there was this whole protest on Mall Road after jummah prayer today, the molvis were out in full force.
i remember 5 or 6 years back molvis protested on mall against denmark and we were stuck in the campus for hours......several retsurants, banks and motorcycles were burned, many people were killed...... i just hate such protests, they are pointless. Do you think Americans really care about their protests.
Back to the topic, i personally think that they do such things to instigate muslims, they know that we are hot headed and will react foolishly. Ignoring such whackos is a better option. Such protests that result in damaging public properties or killing people result in nothing infact they further intensify the view that we are extremists even though i think such incidents like burning or indecent and insulting cartoons show their extremist behavior.
Oh things remained peaceful today, other than them creating a bad traffic situation. Those Denmark protests were on a different level altogether. Funny how our molvis consider cartoon drawings more offensive than an actual burning of the Quran? :khums:
i can never forgive molvis for that...i got home around 11 30 pm we were all ushered in one big hall for security reasons all gates were closed. Just imagine how worried my parents were. Seriously these guys are a nuisance.
US Administration played it well, when they see it becomes talk of the world they help it bury .. but. .now the dust is settled they didn't stop the mental pastor.
