dermilogica-facial

hi, i recently had a facial done. I have a few blemishes and i think my skin is clogged up, and recently after going thru my teens without a spot i have a few spots blemishes left on my cheeks. Ive got mainly dry skin, but T zone seems to be greasy…resulting in spots…the lady at the salon, said a few things

  1. not to use a cleanser everyday…as i was doing…Any advice views on that?
2)she used a dermilogica product she said it was a whitener she said it will clear up my skin, remove blemishes, close pores etc, and that i can use it as a daily moisturizer on its own… she had run out of stock so i didnt get it. ive looked on the net but i cant find any such whitener by dermilogica…i havnt got the best of knowledge in makeup beauty stuff…and im getting wed in a 3 months InshAllah…
can anyone help? give their opinion

Re: dermilogica-facial

CONGRATULATIONS! first of all best of luck with wedding preperations~~
As of skin care---every person will say something difff--mainly cause theres sooo many different skin types out there
---however as you said that you mainly have dry skin but your tzone area is greasy--so you have a mixed skin type..
---products are out there so you continuously use them--if you're getting married in 3 mths and you feel your skin is clogged the best method i find is steaming...DEFINITELY...also using basin (that yellow paste). I have bad acne.. ...dry skin (my skin is disgusting loll) and i did it one day---i've never gotten sooo many compliments for my skin. My skin was soft and GLOWING. do it like once a week. This is what i did
1. basin: let it dry until it got stiff and washed it off with warm water
2. steam
3. a mix of glycerin, rose water (just one tiny drop of each) and apply it to your face
anddd your skin will iA look gorgeous!
everyone can tell you this works that works...but its all hormones and stuff---also reduce the amount of makeup you wear for 3 mths cause it clogs your pores. Just make sure your washing your face with water to get rid of makeup before you go to bed as well.
Take care
baigette

Re: dermilogica-facial

I had a facial done once using dermalogica products and wow it was incredible! I don't know of any whiteners but why don't you stop by a salon that sells their products and ask for some samples? Maybe you'll find it.

Re: dermilogica-facial

Dermalogica has no such thing as a whitner.

They have just the usual cleansing, toning, moisturizing and then the acne range
Maybe you are referring to the Dermalogica Peels??

They arent really that effective as glycolics as they donot penetrate the skin but are only useful for skintypes that are sensitive.

Re: dermilogica-facial

I have also looked up dermilogica website, and this is why i posted up the thread as i couldnt find any such thign as a whitener but this is what the irl at the salon said. i have to say the dermiologica facial was very nice although i think some products of matis was used too.

i havent been able to get myself to a salon which has their products and inshAllah am flyign out to pk tonight, and the girl at salon had said this cream was good as a moisturiser,...i.e. the cream she reffered to as whitener....

so if i have clogged up skin should i be using a cleanser DAILY?

Re: dermilogica-facial

Ah, i know exactly how it feels to have acne. i have had bad acne for last 5 years..have tried almost everything but this acne would come back..recently, i have switched to Neostrata products from laroche-posay..the cleanser, toner, renewal fluid, mask, and the topical acne gel cost me whopping $135..it doesn't do any magic , atleast i didn't experience any, but the skin becomes and feels younger and smoother because of the glycolic acid in the products which sort of buffs up the most outer layer of the skin...the number of acne is reduced but i keep encountering one or two every two to three weeks or so, specially around the time of the month because this is when the hormones are all berserk :-)!

but, one thing that really does work like magic is plain old MULTANI MITTI or FULLER'S EARTH ( multani mitti Is fuller's earth, eh?) just add a few drops of lemon, a hint of turmeric(haldi which has antiseptic properties) and mix with enough rose water to make a thick paste..apply on to skin and leave it on until it gets completely dry...then wash off and continue with your daily skin regime...what multani mitti does is that it soaks up all the impurities of the skin leaving it fresh and refined and minimizes the pore size...it also dries up the acne. hopefully, it will work for you as well!
