my lil girl has dermatitus ( dry itcy skin on face and flaky) DOC gave me aqueaos cream and some emollient, looks worse today, i did read OILATUM cream is good, did any of ur kids get it, and how did you solve it, hers looks bad today, i got the stuff from doc yday, tried it, and today looks worse :

Hi Nadz - Is it eczema? Normally starts around 3/4 months. Having already had two boys who had quite severe sry skin/eczema..i would suggest the following:
Only bath her once or twice a week (top n tail everyday if you need to...) and just put lots of emolient on her - apparently Aveeno is good ( I havn't personally tried it...). You used to be able to get it on pres. but i asked and now you can't..but check with your GP. I am really careful with my daughter Firyaal who is only two months..and keep her moistened as we have the heaters on etc which tends to dry the air anyway...

I'd stop applying that cream since its made her skin worse & consult the DR again.

forget the doc, he openly told my mum that they are saving money on the NHS and so cant give any good medicine, so he gives out cheap tatt to free prescription holders....i did my own research and bought OILATUM JUNIOR CREAM itd amazing, meant for babies with her condition and iv eused it once so far and it looks 70percent better....

It's normal, happens to a lot of babies. You have to keep them heavily moisturized. If you are using any products by Johnson & Johnson even in the bath, stop. Switch to Aveeno's baby line. They have a wonderful baby moisturizer designed especially for dermatitis and eczema. Also use Aveeno's shower and bath soap.

Another good oil is mineral oil. Just put a few drops into the bathtub.

My daughter has had issues too. Aveeno has made a big difference.

^Ditto! Aveeno products really helped my son's condition too...I also like Aquaphor ointment.

i bought oilatum junior cream, GODSEND..11/10 its the 3rd day im using i and mashallah she looks 99percent improvement...
