Something i’ve noticed alot is the amount of people who are sad or depressed quite often, maybe every other day. Sometimes there’s no reason or explanation for it. Is it something very common in the West? I don’t really recall hearing anyone in Pakistan being depressed. What is it that makes us feel crappy?
Re: Depression
In Pakistan we can't afford this luxury . There main problem is survival on daily bases .
Re: Depression
There is no depression in Pakistan?

Nami said it!!
For the most part it's not even recognized in Pakistan. Ziada se ziada it'll be labeled as Jinn ka saya OR the person suffering will be called CRAZY.
Re: Depression
huh? depression equated to jinn ka saya?
what, which backwater village are we talking about
has anyone read any statistics about depression in Pakistan before declaring it extinct there?
Re: Depression
X2, ofcourse it exists there but how many times is it recognized and TREATED in a middle class family? How many people have the money to pay a psychiatrist?
Re: Depression
but in middle class familes it is not called jinn ka saya or someone being crazy. thats more of a lower class village thingie for ladies who have hysteria related issues.
and the question is not about it being called as such or being treated, the thread was going in a direction thar its a western phenomenon. The phenomenon exists, regardless of whether its brushed under the rug or not recognized/accepted/acknowledged.
