Depression management

You are depressed to a point, your eyes go watery even when you begin to speak. Its something you can do nothing about right away. What to do? How to get out of it?

Re: Depression management

I think that is more of a physical problem. Not depression.

Re: Depression management

I am talking about depression. Something is annoying, and you cant get out of it. I know what you mean though:s

Re: Depression management

I guess you are talking about sadness for some kind of loss.
The best way to manage it is to let it out by crying. By talking to someone about it. Keeping yourself busy.
Depression is much more than that. In depression you can lose your sleep. Do not feel like doing, a feeling of lasting sadness overwhelms you for long hours and more. Look it up in a dictionary.

Re: Depression management

Just cry.. Never hold it in, Makes you worse, Cry and talk about it thats all you can do really if you cant do anything about the situation.

Re: Depression management

yup talk it out with a friend or anyone randomly on internet. sometimes its easy to talk to a complete stranger than to someone u know in real life.

Re: Depression management

^FairyTale .. you are actually right. it's easier to let it out and cry ! talk it out with a random stranger helps at times !

Re: Depression management

If you are really really depressed then it's difficult to get out of it WITHOUT others help or "presence".

By OTHERS I mean is - you need to "let go" of yourself, your thoughts, your expectations, your wishes - and START LOOKING OUT for OTHERS. Be there in their life. Take all the positive they can give you and MOVE on. tkae a walk and meet meet people with DOGS on the street - strick some conversation about the DOG - You will find DIFFERENT things about different people an dhow they live and all that.

You will also realize that NOT EVERYONE has everything and NOT everyone GETS everything. You will realize that there are some other problems in others lives that will make you feel FOOLISH of sitting on your own problem. You will find ways of encouragement to help you cope with your depression and you must take the opportunity to help yourself GET OUT OF IT.

You can do it. Everyone goes through this at some point in their lives. Help yourself get out of it sooner.

Re: Depression management

Two major issues which lead to depression or escalation of this feeling;

1- Loss of hope- Mayoosi

2- Not being thankful and grateful for what the person already has

So working on these two issues helps in management of depression a lot.

ditto!

Re: Depression management

Watch some MADtv youtube videos.

I had been regular with namaz. Dont know why i got all irregular after choti eid. You are strong when u do namaz. Maybe its a reminder for me.

No its not a loss in that sense. I have actually lost my sleep and concentration. Even when i force myself to sleep, I can tell how many times the bell rang or what else happened. I mean i am stuck somewhere in between.

Oh yes, i think acting strong is no good.

Guess, thats why i opened the thread.

THe problem is, i feel all the roads have disappeared. I dont know what i can do or where i can end up. No nothing for my own self.

I haven't lost hope. But i am not certain either.

Thanks for the input guys. Bad patch, that's it.

This is what I do-

Pray two rakat nafils and talk it out with Allah SWT (I'm sorry if it sounds weird) Just tell Him all the problems you have and that you're relying on Him to get through this hard patch, cry if you want and ask for help. Since you can't do anything about the matter for now, just leave it at that. iA everything will work out for you.

Watch Friends afterwards and laugh your heart out. Have some comfort food, Ice cream is the best!

Hope you feel better :)

Thanks. Its not weird, its priceless.

stay away from namaz for a while.

how long its been going on?

:nahi: I told you firenze would be a bad influence.

I have lived through it, I know what I am talking about.

She needs her animal instincts to kick in, not the divine ones, at-least for now.
