This was my fourth visit to the two holy mosques and sadly it appears that Saudi authorities have lost interest in taking care of pilgrims.
The meeqaat in Taif was in wretched state. The bathrooms were so dirty that one would vomit and many were broken, it appeared that no one cared to clean them.
Similarly the outside of Masjid al Haraam was dirty. While one cud find lot of police to pick up the cars parked in improper places, one cud not see even one person to clean the space.
Back in 90 and 88, 84 when i went, i was full of praise for authorities for keeping the areas so clean and tidy, but now it seems authorities have become indifferent.
