i never read instructions but few days back i just read and there was written not for those sensitive areas…then i read couple of hair removing creams pack ..same instructions was written …point is when those creams are actually made for hair removing on sensitive areas then why they wrote such stuff…

Did you mean depilatory cream?

Those are just a waste of money and can cause severe irritation to the skin, It's much better to use an epilator or wax instead

Those are really just made for legs/arms/underarms, they're not marketed really towards any other place...i wouldn't even think about putting it on my face or other areas of my body. It's strong chemicals that burn your hair off...so yeah, bad idea.

Like the other poster suggested, epilators/waxing/shaving are your best bet.

I only get my brows threaded. Any other place on my face (including upper lips), I break out from threading.

I've been using Nair (the one that says it's for face) for over 10 years. Personally, I've never burned myself, my hair hasn't gotten any darker or thicker, and it has not effected my skin color in any way.

Just my personal experience.

oh im glad to find out nair is suitable for face n doesnt cause irritation, iv been getting hair bleach/waxing/threading done for face for last 5 years n its caused huge pain& skin irritation so iv stopped nw, hair come bk thicker with it. my facial hair has killed my confidence n i wrk in customer service.doctor cnt prescribe medication for it as it'll affect my hormones etc. and i was rly worried to use depilatory cream on my face.. for other areas iv used the cream,which i ordered from avon which is suitable for sensitive skin n its worked within 3 minutes and hasnt irritated abit.works brilliantly.

wow...i used nair once...years ago and couldn't try it again because of the amount of irritation it caused me :(

doing nothing proper really, just plucking some totally visible thick hairs on brow, chin, lip... iv been using alum powder(phatkari) mixed in rose water for 20 mins each day for a month to help reduce growth but no luck yet. im still hunting for a better cure that i can safely use to remove the hair without irritation... :-S

fullstop, the alum powder and rosewater is not going to change your hair growth.

hair removal creams and shaving are essentially the same thing, just achieved in different ways. They both cause skin irritation, so if you are seeing the effects of it less with the cream, that's probably better.

where are you in the UK? if you can spare some money each week, try to get electrolysis at least for the "totally visible thick hairs" that you are currently plucking. you will need to stop plucking if you want electrolysis but then instead of plucking, the electrolysis will achieve permanent removal of those hairs instead. you can continue the hair removal cream for the rest.

I've never actually heard of that combination helping to reduce hair growth to be honest.

You can opt for the eletrolysis because its a permanent solution or you can try to space out your treatments in a way where your skin is get a break long enough to calm down.

^ Yes, you're not really supposed to use it on your erm, privates. Bikini line/underarms/legs/arms is fine, but you shouldn't be putting it anywhere else.

Wax, epilator or shave. Waxing is best. If you can do it yourself, great. But if you don't have the guts, go to a nice, clean salon and get a Brazilian.

It's not painful if you go to a reputable salon. If you're gonna go to a cheap salon they won't know how to properly do the wax and you'll be in lots of pain then. Also, if you're that worried about the pain...before the wax take aspirin or Tylenol an hour to 30 minutes before your wax, there's also loads of numbing gels available in the market. I had my first Brazilian recently, and I was extremely scared. I went to a great salon however, and didn't feel weird and had very very minimal pain. I wouldn't go back to anything else after waxing.

Anyways, waxing isn't your only solution - shave, epilator, laser, electrolysis (the latter two being if you've got the money for it).

Of all the options, I would only go with trimming or waxing. The mucosal skin is very delicate and prone to ingrown hairs. Epilating is terrible for hair growth. Waxing can also lead to ingrowns and boils but it's preferable to epilating. I would go to a good salon, with properly trained staff that use high quality waxes; hot film wax (doesn't need fabric strips and doesn't adhere to the skin too much) is a great option for the full brazillian and underarm areas.

But really, Laser is a great option here. Providing you go to a good clinic and they do everything right, the brazillian area and underarms are mostly coarse, dark hairs so respond well. Most people I know (who followed all my advice) were done in about 4 treatments... let's say you do need 6 and it's about £100 per treatment, that's £600 for hair free skin. Not bad imo.
