like death is who we our spouse already pre decided and something that is set in stone? so really what is going to happen is going to happen and there is no point in trying to really work to get yourself “accepted” lets just put it like that. because you cant really do that? who will accept has been decided
can one make lots of dua in this regard and pray things work out smoothly and swiftly ?
do we get people that are similar to us in nature , like if your easy going so is your partner ?
I believe in the harder you work the luckier you get, look after yourself, eat well, go the gym, add value to yourself, get skills be interesting be financially successful and IA destiny will change.
sorry for the late reply i meant taqeer that its been written to happen and no matter what you do it will happen? there is no avoiding it. if you are going to marry someone than thats it Allah has already decided it you will marry them, is it liek that?
Destiny or taqdeer can be changed with dua.
We get what we expect and make dua for. The person you end up marrying is often a reflection of yourself. Someone who compliments you, someone you need in your life.
What about so many people who are able to turn their life around, from being broke to being millionaires from being fat to healthy, from being unhealthy to healthy and they never did a single dua in their life. There are many people who marry people a few grades above them. Our neighborhood has many Filipino nannies who got the wife kicked out and married the rich employer. I bet goal setting, strategizing, planning and executing produce results.
It’s not to say Allah won’t give to people who are non muslims as there are non muslims who still get food to eat everyday, who have great jobs and lives. As Muslims we believe that our efforts **in combination **with dua will give us the best. Duas are either accepted in this life, delayed or Allah gives us something better. Something we need instead of something we have asked for.
So when you go to see a doctor and he evaluates your risk factors and says that if you do such and such thing and exercise and eat healthy and manage your stress you will lower the chance of having a heart attack by 50 or sth percent and live longer is he messing with the divine plan of killing you at a predestined time. So if it is written as to who you are going to marry, then efforts shouldn’t matter.
Efforts in conjunction with dua and an acceptance of qismat…it’s all three things. There’s a saying by Hazrat Ali RA that in the changing of my plans did I realize that there’s a rabb or higher authority. Meaning that sometimes you can plan and put effort and take all measures and precautions and things may not go your way. You plan and do all you need to do to have your picnic…but it rains…or there’s a flat tire…or some other unforeseen emergency crops up. And that is a reminder that there is a Planner above us. To put zero effort is not right either, but at the same time there is also a danger in thinking that insaan has 100% control and that there is no “divine” power that intervenes in our lives; that’s arrogance. This debate, trust me, will go on and on…and it will be circular logic. No matter how many times you say that you DO INDEED believe in the power of hard work and effort…you could scream it from the rooftops…and it won’t be enough…especially if the opponent makes no mention of whether they believe in dua at all or the effect of dua…or even in the existence of a God for that matter and that is the actual root of the argument. Let’s face it..when it comes to “total control”…we don’t have 100% of it…we can’t control the weather…and no matter how much we take care of our health…and of course we should take care of our health…we are not the ones that tell each cell where to go and what to do…it’s taken care of for us. All the success stories in the world cannot deny these very fundamental realities. So yeh behas to chalti hi rahi gi…it’s better just to end it here.
I know many people who believe in destiny and don’t look at the weather forecast before planning the picnic if you have a spare tire and a tire repair kit then chances are you can still have your picnic. Countries with advanced medical facilities average life expectancy is much higher, is that destiny? Why do the rich molvis run to US for treatment when they get sick, just let the cells do their destiny thingy. Average life expectancy went from 30s to 80s in advanced countries was that destiny or science.
