Today been to the a muslim halal meat shop in Stavanger. About chicken he said that it comes from Denmark and is halal.
Can a guppy please tell me more if the chicken in Denmark are slaughtered as per islamic rules and the certification.

Is there a certificate of authencity or something from the local Islamic council on display at the meat shop?

Nope. There was nothing of sort on display. The butcher, Palestinian may be, said that he slaughter beef and lamb himself but chicken comes from Denmark.

whilst denmark is a major distributor of chicken in the middle east (i dont kow where you are located)... you still need to see a letter of authority.. that the chicken is indeed halal. not all chicken in this country (denmark.. i live here) is halal.
no documentation... no proof of halal-ness

Shoaib: I'm surprised that your butcher gets his chicken from Denmark rather than Oslo. Wouldn't the latter be closer? Oslo does have a huge Muslim community so I'm sure there are suppliers of Halal chicken there.
