We are such a bunch of hypocrites. We don’t take a sec to point fingers at the so called “modern” taseers, where as they seem to have MUCH more family values, care and bond than what we the “traditional” lot claim of.
We are living in denial, shame on us and our fake values.

ur statem, ent is based on? was there a research done Maham? any citations? or, is it just what u perceive? **
It was a general observation guys. Rooted in the fact that alot of people are happy about whatever happened with Salman taseer, they think it’s their Islamic duty to appreciate such act against the “UnIslamic” Taseers.
These same people forget to look at their own lives, their own family setups where they are living together in a house but are infact wanting to cut down each other at any given opportunity.
The truth is I am still not clear about what was done was right or not - islamically... my ignorance in the matter is bothering me much more than anything else for now... it's frustrating!

That's nothing new. Ours is a nation built on hypocrisy. We do all those things that the Holy Prophet pbuh warned us against, lying, backbiting, corruption which is probably a much bigger blasphemy than calling the blasphemy laws a kaala qanoon, but we're still willing to kill those who call a spade a spade. I'm not an advocate of Salman Taseer's lifestyle but he did stand up for what's right, which is more than most people can say.

Even if we put aside the discussion whether what he said was right or wrong, who gives these people the right to go and kill people? Let Allah be the judge. If anything, he should have been brought to court for saying what he did if it really went against the Islam.
And yes he may have lead a very colorful life but i would take that anytime over hypocrates who are praying 5 times a day, fasting 30 days BUT deep down are such **es and ****s that they would leave no opportunity to bring down others n want the worse for them.

At least that's what my reasoning points to as well. But the people of this country also have the habit of passing verdicts whenever the situation calls for it: He deserved it, he was asking for it anyway, serves him right for playing with people's emotions and blah blah... it doesn't hurt to pass a judgment unless it's someone you don't care about.
