Demonic Possession

So is it way too easy for demons to possess us humans just like that even though the person prays 5 times a day & recite Quran pak too … how can demons possess us when you are praying n all … why human beings… why not animals ? even some people are so careless about praying n all but still they dont have any demon in them …

Re: Demonic Possession

so many people in our part of the world are obsessed with 'nazar, 'jin', 'bhoot' etc. i dunno when this is gonna stop. we are too superstitious and too easy to become victims of such nonsensical ideas.

may Allah guide us to the right path and protect us from deviations in faith...aameen

Re: Demonic Possession

^but there is a whole surat on jins in Quran ..... Hazrat salman AS had this ring which gave him the power to command demons etc .... then how can you say that ......

Kkf, as Bbbcd stated, jinns aren't a part of superstitions...

Re: Demonic Possession

Peace bbbcd,

The demons, shiatin, evil spirits etc., do not possess randomly until they were told to do so. I think there is a barrier between Human and these Jinnat and both do not emerge into one another.

Re: Demonic Possession

Please elaborate...

Re: Demonic Possession

They do exist...but the 'possession' bit is a grey area...

Re: Demonic Possession

Peace MM,

Example of Black Magic under different circumstances.

Re: Demonic Possession

told by whom ? ....... what barrier ??

Re: Demonic Possession

Peace bbbcd,

Told by the magicians, soothsayers, witch etc., and by saying barrier I meant by the Will of Almighty Allah. I think there are two types of evils (1) which possess the body and another are (2) those who whisper in our ears.

Re: Demonic Possession

^ How come this black magic thingy can happen so easily even to the person who prays 5 times a day because I have seen people who do no wrong but still suffer from black magic n all ............ why don't reciting Quran & praying protects us from all this?

So in a way you are saying black magic is happening with the will of Allah as that barrier cant be broken by anyone else but Allah .....

Re: Demonic Possession

Dont you think people who pray 5 times a day should be less vulnerable to black magic .........

Re: Demonic Possession

Peace bbbcd,

Unfortunately, it is not simple straight forward. First of all, how come we be sure that our daily five time prayers is accepted? I mean whether our prayers is full of Taqwa or not. Secondly, if we are reading Quran then how we are reading it? Like an ordinary book or trying to understand each and every single words then applying it to ourselves?

In fact, like pieces of puzzle, each & everything is connected from all sides and if by any chance a corner is weak then we should worry about it. Are you getting what I’m saying  I’m talking about “Taqwa”, absolute believe/relying on Almighty Allah.

And about the barrier thing, who can break it? Ofcoz the one who don’t believe in Almighty Allah, i.e., disbeliever, evils, demons, etc., isn’t it? But they do not harm anyone through it except by permission of Almighty Allah.

There are many ways told by our beloved Prophet Muhammad :saw2: how one can protect him/herself from such misfortunes but “Taqwaa” is essential if all those ways.

Re: Demonic Possession

Praying 5 times a day doesn’t make a person any more “protected” any one who doesn’t.

Even The Prophet (SAW) was affected by black magic.
“Labid ibn Asimm, who outwardly posed to be a believer (munafiq) carried out black magic on the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him & give him peace).”
Source.

If he can be affected, we’re nothing compared to him… So why not us?

Re: Demonic Possession

What do you mean by possession? Full control or just being in the person and causing some kind of effect?

In general, yes.

Re: Demonic Possession

^both

Re: Demonic Possession

Then how can that happen what MM mentioned....... that means there is no way of protecting yourself from such things ....

Re: Demonic Possession

I said it would make one less vulnerable to it if they were to pray 5 times. What that means in that the sihr would have a greater effect on someone non-practicing, someone involved in more sins etc. would not have the same type of effect on someone who is more practicing, more particular about good deeds, halal/haram, purity etc. To get someone who prays regularly, recites Qur'an etc. it would take something stronger to affect them than what it would take to affect someone who doesn't.
