Why such claim seems so funny to you? Actually I wrote that if there are 4 to 5 million Pakhtuns living in Karachi than it means around 23 percent of Pakhtunkhwa population is living in Karachi. I never thought that it would need rocket science knowledge to understand that, as what I wrote is basic arithmetic of 6th grade schooling 
In 1988 census, population of NWFP (Pakhtunkhwa) was around 17.5 million (or 13 percent of Pakistan population). Today estimate would be around 22 million if no one migrated out of Pakhtunkhwa. Anyhow, if around 4 million migrated to Karachi then certainly 2 to 3 million would have moved to other cities too. That means present day Pakhtunkhwa population should be no more than 15 to 16 million (or 9 to 9.5 percent of Pakistani population).
Estimated population of Karachi today is around 18 to 20 million (or 11 to 12 percent of Pakistani population). That is certainly larger than whole population of present day Pakhtunkhaw and almost half of Sindh’s population.
Only thing that should be of concern is that, since population of Karachi increased so much over last 12 years, it would be fair that Karachi should get NA representation, PA representation. Senate representation, quota in federal jobs, share in NFC awards, appropriate to Karachi present day population, what Karachi is not getting. To keep everything fair, this can be done by transferring shares in all these allocations from those places, like Punjab and Pakhtunkhwa, who lost their population to Karachi. I think all patriotic Pakistanis should campaign for Karachi so that Karachi gets its fair share in Pakistan.
