Democratic Republic of Pakistan

Re: Democratic Republic of Pakistan

I was looking at the name change from a legalistic point of view, but it's OK, I am of the opinion that the indegenous nation of 'Islami Jamurhia of Pakitan" is not ready, nor are the people. What I had as ked and the responses I got were of die-hard, mullahistic and backward nature, except a few.

Re: Democratic Republic of Pakistan

i agree, the name should be changed. its really a shame that in "islamic republic of pakistan" a mother doesnt know if her child is coming back home alive, wife doesnt know if her husband will come home from work safe and sound, neighbours being afraid of their neighbours because they belong to minority population of the country, our so called "leaders" have looted the nation and filled up their swiss accounts, mosques are being bombed because they dont belong to majority sect. i dont think those are the qualities of "islamic republic anyways". islam should be in the spirits and faith of the ppl, and u dont need an official thappa (stamp for some angrez here)on the constitution to make ur self feel muslim.
and if takes a drunk and not so muslim dictator to change the stupid ways of the country ,so be it. i wud rather feel secure and at home in pakistan than be worried all the time about the lives of my loved ones residing there.

Re: Democratic Republic of Pakistan

Thank you suroor_ca02. I liked what you wrote. But since Pakistan was created on the basis of Islam as some have argued here, the same some here, have a very tough time parting from that archaic school of thought.

Re: Democratic Republic of Pakistan

How many non-christian presidents has America had?

Re: Democratic Republic of Pakistan

^^ Che US did have one catholic president.

Re: Democratic Republic of Pakistan

Why do you talk talk like a idiot ? YOu were saying earlier that pakistan should be broken up and then you show your pakistani flag? you are actually a snake within.

anyway, what good is changing a law gona do ? Do you think even if it was changed, would muslims in Pakistan vote for a qadiani to become the prime minister ?

Has a non-jew become a leader of Israel ? Has a non-christian become a president of america ? has a black become the president in america ?

Re: Democratic Republic of Pakistan

so you meant catholics are not christians??

Re: Democratic Republic of Pakistan

btw

The Islamic republic of Pakistan. had Cheif Justice Cornelius, a Roman Catholic Chief Justice of the most self-conscious Muslim state. even turkey hasnt done this in its history.

Re: Democratic Republic of Pakistan

You missed the point. US is predominantly a protestant country. To have a catholic president is a rarity, so when Kennedy became the president it was a big thing. The same goes for John Kerry last year it became not an issue but some conservative religious groups highlighted the fact that he was catholic. This doesn't mean that the protestants; inorder to secure power will modify the constitution so only protestants can be in power. I have no issues with a person loosing an election demorcatically, my issue is the right for a person to stand up. The non-muslim constituents are denied the right to stand-up. This has nothing to do with patriotism. A non-muslim can be as patriotic or more towards Pakistan than a regular muslim so patriotism is not an issue.

Re: Democratic Republic of Pakistan

Yes and Pakistan had a top general (a british) commanding troops as well, I believe it was Punjab regiment. However this was over in late 50s.
Can you please provide me with the dates as to when he serverd, I can bet my camel that he served prior to the Islamization of Pakistan (Zia) and last days of Bhutto. After 74 the non’s were very limited.
