Democracy

Bush the redneck claims he wants to spread democracy in Iraq. But then at the same time he is asking Chirac and Schroder to go against the views of their people (polls show that over 90% of French oppose this war) and support his imperialism in Iraq.

How can that be democracy? Is he just full of hot air?

Their is a lot more to democracy then just majority rules.

^ Is doing something that a majority of your people oppose democracy?

Wars aren't declared based off public opinion polls Kareem.

For the record, check my posts in the last 2 days .. :-) .. I dont ...

but (on the record) I question the motives and sincerity of this govt....

As you always should, of any govt.

I usually believe that US is above board when it comes to intentions but in this case looking at the cast of characters involved, particularly Cheney, I am a bit worried if the motives are not quite on teh up and up!

As the terror level goes back to orange and war is on the horizon, I expect Cheney to stay in his underground bunker for next few months. Also expect to see more of neo-cons like Richard Perle and Paul Wolfowitz.

Supposed unilateral action in the name of the world community will always be looked on with suspicion.

Azkhar,

The US has sold many weapons to many dictators, this dictator just happens to be sitting on the world's second biggest goldmine and wont play ball.

The world's public opinion is strongly against American action and motives. Domestic opinion is split.

Linking terrorism to Iraq can only have one plausable outcome, terrorism is more likely after a war in Iraq.

Why is it that US can do whatever she wants to?
I don't even blame the democracy this time, but a Organisation that should support Peace and Freedom on this earth like the UNO.
What is the use of all this when it ends as it was once planed by those who need to get ridd of Saddam?
Why use lies to succeed in the mission WMDs, dirty bombs?
Why they need to bribe every single country to gain support?
Isn't that cowardess?

But still people are proud of their system which is unacceptable for even a person like me.

It's not Saddam and it's Regime who I favour but the poor Iraqi civilians who will have to pay the price for it.
Just to keep American clean from dirty bombs you bloody count the death numbers of other nationalities.

Then I ask myself why is one "race" less worth than another?
There is no Equality, Harmony nor PEACE usually common standards of DEMOCRACY.
