It was the regime of Gen Zia ul Haq. A European Premier came to Islamabad. He said, " General ! Everything looks sound in Pakistan except that there is no democracy."
Gen Zia, " What do you mean?"
European Premier , " I mean people can’t question on any order given by you."
General said that the premier was misguided and should be shown a proof that democracy exists in Pakistan. He called a meeting of young Rangroots the next morning. The European premier was also present there.
The General addressed them, " Jaanbaz bahadur sipahiyo, Kal tumhari bahaduri ka imtihaan hai. Mera farman hai ki kal subah tum sabko phansi de di jaye".
There was absolute calm all over. Suddenly there was a raised hand by a Rangroot.
The General looked towards the premier and said, " well ! Prime Minister, you said that we don’t have democracy in Pakistan, see that even after this harsh order a Rangroot is asking a question. General encouraged the man to ask the question.
The Rangroot asked," Janaab kya rassi sath lani hai ?"
