Democracy, Deals & Darned! (merged)

Re: Democracy, Deals & Darned! (merged)

How absurd and stupid are these two get? They have now decided to cooporate by taking turns in bankrupting the country!?
God help Pakistan with such "well meaning" champions of Democracy...
I the mean time, the poor people are mulling along while their fate is being decided by these two geniuses.

Mil baith kar khanay may barkat hay, don’t you think so? Specially, when the plate is full and there is so much to grab and digest :). As for poor people, these two goons represent them, so probably that is what poor of the country wants, to sacrifice and die for their representatives ;).

Total debt in 1999 was over 100 percent of GDP (38 billion dollars plus 1700 billion rupees = 69 billion dollars in an economy of around 64 billion dollars).

Total debt today in 2007 is around 51 percent of GDP (38 billion dollars plus 2250 billion rupees = 75 billion dollars in an economy of around 146 billion dollars. ].

Mashallah.

Ya Allah, Pakistan ko aur taraqi kanay ki taufeeq ata farma. Ameen.

Somehow I can't see Nawaz waiting all the time till around 2013 to become Prime Minister again while BB rules for 5 years. More like after 6 months of her as PM he will launch a movement to overthrow her, as on previous occassions.

Re: Democracy, Deals & Darned!

With democrats making deals like this, there never will be any true democracy and institution will not get strong. Military intervention has not instilled corrupt attitude in our politicians. All our politicians have worked to destabilize/influence institutions throughout the time they had been in power. BB and NS intervening with the justice system was not from a distant past.

Re: Democracy, Deals & Darned!

For Pakistani politicians, power always comes before principles.
