Democracy By Invasion???

As americans put it the simple way,

" Democracy is Govt of the ppl by the ppl for the ppl through the ppl ."

Its autoracy through invasion as there will be a “puppet” regime if any in Baghdad like in Afghanistan.

Just acknowledge, its the war for oil and monoply not for justice to ppl.

Mm10…is it important what the war is for?

What is important is that the Butcher is replaced, and Iraqis can chart out their own destiny(yes, like the Afghans). They have not been helped by their impotent neighbors, and now that the US is helping them, let it be. He came through massacring his own people, and ruled with torture and rape. If he is not yet dead, his days are surely numbered. I would like to see a big skewer through his body while he gets chargrilled in al-Rashid square in Baghdad.

"helping" who? The Shiites? The Kurds? Other Iraqis? I haven't seen any "uprising" yet. Who are we helping?

You are right, its irrelevant "what the war is for". The reason is to silence those who have no idea whats going on in the world.

Changez, its only been less than 2 weeks, and you want to see all the results already? Remember how long it took India to liberate? GPS and precision guided don’t mean overnight removal of dictatorial regime. In fact, it will be counter productive for him to be replaced so soon. Give it a little time to see the results.

You should know that the Shia leader has been living in exile in Iran (Ayatoallah Rehmani) for 22 years. If things were so good for the Kurds and Shias in Iraq, the world would have known about it.

Patience, my brother, patience.

Coalition gathered this much support (whatever there is) by shouting a “swift victory” with “minimal casualty”, but now they started to say “its gonna be a while”. daal mai bohot kuchh kala hai, shayed poori daal hi kaali hai

:hehe: Saddam and British Colonialism compare?

I think its counter productive to prolong the war, both for Iraqi civilians and for global economy.

Altaf Hussein has been in exile for 9 years. Exiles don’t mean anything to me. Exile do not really tell if one is sincere, honest etc. It could simply mean that he couldn’t get the share of power/wealth.

Yes My friend! it is impt to know the motives of any war as every action has intentions and you know it very well deep in your heart that intentions of Mr.Bush and his cronies, what so ever, ai'nt good.

Well The invading forces already said about the civilian casualities even going before for war, how would you feel if your family is bombed and your wife and children r killed in the name of pseudo freedom slogan.

Afghans hv'nt chalked out thier destiny yet????

If his days r numbered, means nothing, ppl ai'nt gonna forget the destruction carried out by invading forces or Kuwaiti Sheikh's impotency.

And do'nt be personal with saddam, some days you might change your sexual preferences after livin so long in free sex society and infact may miss saddam. Take it easy.

The American's could start promoting democracy by asking their Kuwaiti hosts to give the 95% of it's population who are not allowed to vote (including all the women), the right to vote.

Well I hope they promote fully free and transparent elections there, they will be in one hell of a shock when they see the results. :)

It should be OBL == Operation Bedwin Liberation :hehe:

It is NOT about democracy, ask myvoice.

And who's gonna replace Bush the Butcher?

Democracy has never flown on B-52's. It was only implemented when people wanted it to be implemented. French Revolution is an example. It was the people who brought the democracy not some power from outside.

Thats Two :K: :K: up

Democracy? or

Demo Crazy?

This is a government built on the rights of the native Americans who were herded into 'reservations' and many of them massacred.

This is the same government which told its people that Germany had sunk one of its ships to enter WWI (the ship it turned out was well in-tact with no such incident ever taking place).

This is the same government which dropped TWO atomic bombs on civilians in Hiroshima & Nagasaki!.

This is the same government which created a big foe in 'Communism' and led to the Cold War which eventually led to the demise of the Soviet Union (during WWII, the US and USSR were allies against Germany - USSR was a Communist state then as well as later).

This is the same government which instigated the Korean war, and then later invented a crisis to place its forces in Vietnam.

This is the same government which propagated the Gulf -War by using the false testimony of the Kuwaiti Ambassador's daughter to Congress (she said she was a nurse in Kuwait and saw the Iraqi atrocities to the babies in the hospital).

This is the same government which is held an 'embargo' against Iraq which has caused the death of over 1/2 million children (according to UNICEF). The US is stating that this decade long embargo is needed to rid Saddam of his weapons - the same weapons that the US government sold him!.

This is the same government which went in to liberate Kuwait from Iraqi invasion, yet feeds Israel with money and arms to continue its invasion of Palestine!.

This is the same government who bombed targets in Libya (killing Ghadafi's adopted daughter), and bombed targets in Sudan and Afghanistan (the factory owner in Sudan was later compensated in a civil court ruling, the target in Afghanistan turned out to be a mosque!).

This is the same government that has invaded Iraq without UN and International Consent and is thus bolstering International War Crimes.

This is the same government that sponsored coup against democracy in Guatemala in 1954 which resulted in the deaths of over 120,000 Guatemalan peasants by U.S. installed dictatorships over the course of four decades.

This is the same government that overthrew the government of the Dominican Republic in 1965 and helped to murder 3,000 people.

This is the same government that sponsored a coup in Chile against the democratic government of Salvador Allende and helped to murder another 30,000 people, including U.S. citizens.

This is the same government that sponsored a coup in 1965 in Indonesia that resulted in the murder of over 800,000 people, and the subsequent slaughter in 1975 of over 250,000 innocent people in East Timor by the Indonesian regime, with the direct complicity of President Ford and Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.

This is the same government that sponsored terrorist contra war (the World Court declared the U.S. government a war criminal in 1984 for the mining of the harbors) against Nicaragua in the 1980s which resulted in the deaths of over 30,000 innocent people (or as the U.S. government used to call them before the term "collateral damage"was invented--"soft targets").

This is the same government that waged war against the people of El Salvador in the 1980s, which resulted in the brutal deaths of over 80,000 people, or "soft targets".

This is the same government that invaded Panama over the Christmas season of 1989 and killed over 8,000 in an attempt to capture George H. Bush's CIA partner, now turned enemy, Manual Noriega.

This is the same government that has "manufactured consent" since 1948 for its support of Israel, to the exclusion of virtually any rights for the Palestinians in their native lands resulting in ever worsening day-to-day conditions for the people of Palestine.

Liberators?

You mean Labourhaters!

You're right. Glad to see you picked up on this. Now I know my time in Guppistan has not been wasted.

When all is said and done in the War (which is most definitely NOT about imposing democracy on Iraq), it will be in the best interests of the US and everyone else to let the Iraqis ultimately decide their form of government. What is key in my mind is that the government be "representative."

I never heard of a loya jirga before the fall of the Taliban. One would hardly call that form of selecting leadership democratic. But, you would call it representative. If it works for the Afghans, who am I or anyone else to criticize that method of government?

I believe there are several ways of "representative". One is "selective" the other is "elective". Would US hold fair elections for Iraqis after Saddam's regime (4-6 months) or would "wait for suitable time i.e. some years"?
