Just talking about domestic carriers: I've never flown delta. I always fly American Airlines and never had a problem with them, whether domestic or international. I've also flown continental and they were good as well.

You can!! If they want to check, they can always break your lock and put a notice inside. The best thing to do is to put a TSA lock, this way they can open it using the TSA master key they have.

If stuff is missing from your suitcase, how is that Delta Airlines fault? You can't take care of your stuff and all of a sudden its the airline that is to blame? For what? Your carelessness and selling a ticket to some thief?

I have one of those locks but I bought it from the LGA airport. I bought it because our carry-on was too big, so we had to give it to the flight attendant so that she could take it and have it put in the plan with the checked-in luggage. So I bought the lock from a store at the airport. That was the first time I saw one of those locks.
Anyway, not sure how popular wal-mart is in your state, but go to any such retail store and go to the luggage section. I am sure the big retailers will carry those. If not wal-mart, I am sure department stores like dillards and macys that sell luggage should sell those.

Shay, I bought them from Macys, $10 ea… I think they’re free if you buy a bag. I think its worth it, because think about it, if you have an ordinary lock, they’d break it and lets say you’re traveling to Pakistan. On the way you’ll have a stopover or two where you dont even get to see you bag and its handled by people who might steal stuff before you get your bag back…

Delta is compensating me now because they ADMITTED it was their mistake after a complaint was filed and they investigated into this. The TSA had removed stuff from my suitcase and it was never put back in. So ma'am, what you just said here is incorrect :) And since they ARE horrible after all, I suggest you don't fly them anymore :D
