Dell Inspiron laptops for under $800, with CD/RW

A friend of mine is selling Dell Inspiron 1100 laptops for $795 USD. These are brand-new, in the box (not refurbished) laptops. These are better than the ones that you can buy from other places as it also includes CD-burner for such a low price. It has one year manufacturer warranty plus a one year at home service warranty. Some Specs: 20GB Hard drive, 256MB RAM, Intel Celeron 2.4 processor. Please PM me if you are interested/need any further details.

Did I tell you that shipping is only $5 to anywhere in USA; plus no tax, CD burner and a high-speed Intel celeron processor.

spend a couple hundred more to get a pentium processer instead of celeron. you will thank me later.

now if he were selling them Pentium Ms you would have had a customer.

A friend of mine got this 1100. Man, this is a HEAVY piece of equipment!!!

He got it from Dell last year, and paid $699. They provided free shipping and free upgrade to CD-RW. It was some promotion going on for small-businesses, I think.

Anyway, its an otherwise decent machine. Performance is as expected. Win XP Home came pre-installed, plus a bunch of other stuff.

u can still buy it for around 699..shipping is always free on dell site..its almost 8 lbs and thats just too heavy

I disagree, Sheraz. The lowest price on dell's website rightnow is $749. They do not have free shipping, meaning you will have to pay anywhere from $35 - $70 for that. Also, do not forget taxes anywhere from $40 - $65 depending on where a person lives. Additionally, the $749 laptop does not even have the CD burner, a $110 value. You do the math; hence, the deal people are getting thru my friend is still a great bargain.

Yeah I bought one a month ago for 890.

ok ladies and gentlemen, now he has only 2 more laptops left, and he is reducing the price to $725. You CAN NOT go wrong at this price with all the features mentioned above. Please post/pm me if you are interested.

hmmm … sounds phishy to me :hoonh:

friend of mine just bought one from dell directly, with a 60GB HDD and 512 MB RAM...and its a 2.8 GHz Celeron...for $1000 CDN :p

desimunda: dont forget to add shipping, taxes, and gst since its in canada, and i bet the price is way beyond 1000 cdn.
nos: my cousin brought one from him, and its working great. in case of any trouble, we always have 1 year warranty plus one year at home service. so the only fishy thing might be the fish sandwich that i am eating rightnow :-)

Can we get the middle man out and talk to him directly?

What's the catch?

none. The price is not very low for a celeron processor laptop. u can have a brand new pentium 4 2.2 gh for almost the same price.

sadiyah, asif2000 is absolutely right on the first part, that there is no catch. my friend does a lot of wholesale buying, and as a result he is able to get the computers cheaper than retail prices.
However, I disagree with the second part of asif's reply. pentium 4 is almost impossible to get for less than $850 these days. asif please correct me if i am wrong.
However, coming back to the thread, this laptop still remains a great buy considering all the features.
