I noticed alot of guppies are looking for a new pc…and i heard of this deal. Its a nice second PC..comes with monitor..30gb…celeron 1.8mhz.
Its actually a offer for canadians…the offer is the pc is originally 599CDN..but they have a 100 rebate. So its 499(CDN). But u gotta pay for shippin and handling..so the price comes to 599(CDN)..or 386(USD)
The office XP home edition alone is 190.80USD.

My reason is because this celeron processor is good for business use e.g. for a server at the corporate office or even for a small network but not for home use. I am saying this from my own experience its not worth to buy a computer with celeron processor for home use I would go for AMD or PII, PIII or P4 but not celeron.

well ofcourse u cant run this as a server. U cant even run a p2 as a server for a business anymore. They all use xeon.
Let me tellu why i postted it..in my household and many other people go on the computer for the sole purpose of browsing the internet and emailing. And for that this computer is more than enough.

:) True...alot of kids buy pcs for HW...but end up playin games...but for kiddos a celeron is good enough to play their educational games...and i dont know many 50+ year olds who need a p4 to play games;)

still. why would a 60yr old buy a pc for 1k when they can get one that suits them for half the price...and if they have any probs they can ring up dell for free tech spprt. something the $999 pc surely doesnt have.

Celerons dont hang on internet of email dummy, they can also perform quite well on games.

but what I was trying to say was those older goras at the age of 60+ surfing the net most of the time are not just for surfing and checking email. They go to those porn sites and try to download images and movies stuff like that.
I rmember when first time Sony came out with a digital cam coder along with night vision some one figured out if they use that night vision during the day or night some how they can catch or see through whats behind the clothes. Eventually Sonay found out and they modified the cam corders. I was in Hong Kong at that time and most of the old people came to the electronic shops to buy those cam corders and asking the sales person how to make that thing work so that they can see whats behind the clothes ;) Anyway I am going off topic but just wanted to clear not to offend u yaar.
