Delicate Question - For Those Who Pray Namaz ONLY

Re: Delicate Question - For Those Who Pray Namaz ONLY

^isnt namaz annuled if u close ur eyes :aq:

Re: Delicate Question - For Those Who Pray Namaz ONLY

^ Prayer is not correct if eyes are closed the whole time.

Peace Psyah!

All points you raised are valid and no big difference but holding someone accountable to the point of not being pious is not fair. You seem to be holding people accountable for shaitan’s work of art or at a very high impossible standard.

Even the prophets were approached by the shaitan to misguide them.

As long as the person seeks refuge the person is still not a sinner or any less pious.

Let me find the basis of what I said in earlier post. Been a while I read those.

OK’

One link here:

It has the hadith as well: As you can see the prophet SAW did not admonish them, and said it was a sign of faith.

Some of the Sahaabah complained about the waswaas that was bothering ?] them. Some of the companions of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said to him, ‘We find in ourselves thoughts that are too terrible to speak of.’ He said, ‘Are you really having such thoughts?’ They said, ‘Yes.’ He said, ‘That is a clear sign of faith.’” (Narrated by Muslim). (Narrated by Muslim, 132 from the hadeeth of Abu Hurayrah).

Re: Delicate Question - For Those Who Pray Namaz ONLY

Human mind never stops working. Train of thoughts never leaves the railroads in your mind. It keeps on going at the speed of light in your mind. We are designed this way. The real struggle is to keep your focus in Namaaz , they more you STRUGGLE to stay focused the more reward you will get. This is the will of Allah and this is Allah's mercy and Allah's way of rewarding us , highly.
It does not matter if your minds wanders around your intimate relationship with your wife or it wanders around the aroma of qorma , nihari or biryani. According to scholars some people will leave their minds wandering around good thoughts and will think that it is OK to do so. According to them this is also a distraction in the namaz , in that case also we should strive to stay connected with Allah.
Wallah Alim Bis Sawab.

I dont care if it makes me feel closer to ALLAH.being the purpose of namaz and i stay 100% concentrated at HIM throughout and its all HIS kindness on me for im a worthless humanbeing.

For u it may not be,for me it is.It makes me feel closer to ALLAH.being the purpose of namaz and i stay 100% concentrated at HIM throughout and its all HIS kindness on me for im a worthless humanbeing.

Re: Delicate Question - For Those Who Pray Namaz ONLY

If I prayed namaz thinking I was pak then to me its a namaz done.
I let clerical farishtas to decide which column to write it in.

agree completely :k:

Re: Delicate Question - For Those Who Pray Namaz ONLY

Whenever I prayed before, I would start thinking about my entire day, the future, school, work, what not. What has really worked for me lately is to concentrate on the words I am reciting. For that reason, I went and read the meaning of the surahs I recite during namaz so when I pray, I know what I'm saying and it becomes so much easier for me to concentrate on the words only and feel even more involved in the namaz as the ayahs are truly powerful. I also envision myself being in front of Allah swt as his slave, and bowing down before him. It gives a very satisfied feeling, can't even describe it and leaves no room for second thoughts =)

Mashallah. :biggthumb: Allah grant us all toufeeq to be so involved in namaz. Ameen.

Re: Delicate Question - For Those Who Pray Namaz ONLY

.

OK. It is your salat. You do whatever you feel like. :)

What I understand I will mention.

It is not recommended. It was never done by the prophet SAW.

As far as I know, there is not hadith that he did it.

He SAW asked for plain sheet (without a design) so he could concentrate.

One is supposed to look at the place of sajdah (Qayam), between feet (rukoo) and between knees when sitting.

If concentration is lost maybe for short time it is permissible. I am not sure.

Concentrating on words and its meaning helps.

Some hadiths forbid it since people in past used to pray with eyes closed.
One hadith says the person will be given blind Hoor?

Praying in complete darkness is also not allowed. (Looking upward also is not allowed by hadith)

At best it is controversial and different people these days give different recommendations.

Peace diwana

I said this before:

It’s not the **coming **of thoughts that is the problem … it is the allowing of those thoughts to be entertained that is the problem …

The Sahabah complained and no doubt a resolution was given to them on how to rid themselves of those thoughts … again I am not questioning the thoughts forming in the mind in the first place rather how we deal with them is important.

Re: Delicate Question - For Those Who Pray Namaz ONLY

So.. what is the answer?

Re: Delicate Question - For Those Who Pray Namaz ONLY

molana ashraf ali thaanwi (RH) said

namaz main dil ka Lagna shert nahi , dil ka Lagaana shert hai

ulma-e-karam yehe tadbeer bataatay hain k

app jo kuch namaz main perh rahay hain us ko itne awaz main perhain k us ki awaz app kay apnay kaan sunain

dosra namaz main mojood herkaat yanee qyaam rukoo qooma sajda main hath or nazar kahan honee chaeye is per zeyhan lagaain

:khumar: After all this.. the simple answer is ..that the Namaz / Prayer is ‘Adaa’ i.e. the Farz of performing it i.e the compulsion is raised once performed.

once finished from performing it .. its upto the person ..hw much of muttaqee that person is .. his level of imaan is questioned .. if he wishes ..that he/she was distracted during namaz they may perform it again i.e. its called ‘e’aada’ with the intention that hes performing it for if there was any doubts in namaz ..this one will inshaAllah cover it.

If the person does not repeat it ..the compulsion of performing the prayer is raised.. i.e. in his naama e a’amaal .. it will be written as ‘performed’ .. but the level of sawaab will differ ..

Simple.

As for Closing Eyes. It is Simply makrooh i.e. disliked .. meaning if its regularly done from the moment you say Allah hu akbar and keep eyes closed all the way till salam .. its makrooh ..and continuously done thru every namaz .. and made a routine of it .. its Strictly prohibited.

however, if someone does close eyes to regain concentration for a coupla seconds or so .. its jaiz .. or for example .. you are standing in taraaweeh ..and your neck becomes stiff ..then you may close eyes and you are allowed to move neck side to side or twist ..but keeping in mind that your still in prayer… or another would be which can occur with person like me that when doing imaamat ..you are reciting and you forget then you may close eyes to remember where you were reciting or what you were reciting or what comes next ..

so basically these are three main reassons when one is Allowed to close eyes otherwise seriously prohibited.

btw, thank you everyone for their input in this ma’ala, some things .. alot of ppl need to know .. and want to know ..but due to shyness or lack of conection with knoledgeable ppl ..people dont get that opertunity to learn something new about Islam. hopefully from this thread ..people learnt something and they can now practice it with confidence.
