Bhaee daikeiN.
I've great respect for Mohammad. I think he was a great man. But I respect him for his good deeds. His moral conduct and preaching of goodness among the ignorants of people. But this whole "I feel insulted and offended but I can't really explain why" is total bakwas.
There are few points here:
1- Do you feel offended because of shaving the leg part? If so, there are dozens of ahaadees with narrations of Mohammad's advising to shave off private areas for men. What's so big about shaving the legs for women?
2- Do you feel offended that I used an "IF" scenario to say that "IF Mohammad was a woman"? If so, is being a woman derogatory? Do you think that it degrades someone if you say "If he was a woman"?
3- Do you feel offended that I used Mohammad's name in an "IF" statement? If so, then I don't see people getting so riled up when I used an example of "IF" statement with mentioning of Khadeja and four Caliphs. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure that most of the people here will agree with that "IF" statement.
The whole point is that, it is not offensive what I said. It is your impulsive mental mechanism that jumps in every time someone mentions Mohammad's name in a different context than what you've been taught and you cannot see beyond that context. You cannot look at things differently from what has been imbedded in you and then you come in here and use the arguement that "If I get offended then it's offense".
That's BS 'cause your getting offense has nothing to do with my saying something that is not disrespectful, it has to do with the fact that you want me to follow same level of respect and shelled mentality to not look beyond. Well, that's your problem, not mine.
