Great thread. Maybe someone will know what I’m talking about…

I’m sure some of you have heard this golden oldie by Inayat Hussain Bhatti
Dhol Jawanian Mane - Zulf Da Kundal Khulle Na - Inayat Hussain Bhatti - YouTube

There was some tribute performance to him done by Ustaad Asad Amanat Ali Khan, in which he sang this song. Video used to be on YouTube but now it’s gone :\ Anyone seen the video I’m talking about?

Re: Dekha na tha kabhi hum ne yeh samaa - A Tribute to Pakistani Pop Music Industry

back in 90s , when we had a little exposure of Indian music (cable and dish was not that common then), I said to my uncle, who had watched many Indian movies, that Indian songs songs are nothing compared to Pakistani songs. He said you are saying this because you hadn't listened to much of Indian songs. But again after so many years, after all exposure to Indian music, I'm still of the same view :D

With the level of restriction and lack of technology, we produced music which inspired musicians like Nadeem-Sherwan, Anu Malik and now Pritam. :)

Hasan Jahangir's "رنگیں محفل۔۔۔ رنگیں ہے یہ سماں" was also very good if it was his own and not inspired or copied
